All of a sudden VR stopped working

I have a 2012 Wrangler Unlimited. I've used the hands free controls from the moment I got it. All of a sudden a week ago, I tried calling someone and it wouldn't pick up my voice. I thought it was the phone but then I was just trying to change music and it didn't pick up my voice then either. After about 2 days it started working again. It was working fine this morning. I get going this afternoon and all of a sudden, same thing, it doesn't hear me at all. I can't figure out what's going on. The only thing I do know is that it's not the phone. Any ideas?? It's still under warranty so I'm taking into the dealer on Friday but thought I'd see if anyone else has had any similar problems.

no not anymore. Everything worked until Tuesday. I pressed the phone button on the steering while to activate it. When I said "call home" it doesn't recognize my phone. If I dial the number from my phone, it'll connect through bluetooth. I'll hear the phone ring and the person answer on the other end, but they can't hear me. I have to disconnect the bluetooth so that I can use the phone. Not sure if that makes sense. My husband thought it was user error (haha) until he tried it himself.

well that makes sense. it probably has nothing to do with the VR. the microphone probably has become unplugged or loose from the head unit.

that's what I'm thinking. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something dumb I was doing before I wasted time at the dealer.

The mic has a short in it. Dealer's ordering a new one and will hopefully be fixed next week.
