So I am real interested in the Altitude edition. I was going to order 2015. I was excited, I would finally be a jeep owner. The sales guy said that he called jeep and they told him there would be no Altitude edition for 2015. Should I locate and buy a 14? Or just order a 15 Sahara? I want the two door. How do I go about negotiating if there out of the state of Florida? I looked on Autotrader and there are about 18 2 doors and a bunch of unlimited.

Couple weeks ago I drove my 2013 10A JK up Pike's Peak. That was some altitude!

The one thing I have learned about Jeep is they are like a Costco Warehouse. If you see something unique, you probably should go ahead and get it because if you wait it won't be there when you return.

If you really like the Altitude you should get it so it doesn't turn into one of those, "should've, could've" moments.

I appreciate your comments. I really do like the look. What would it take to make the Sahara look like it? I'm wondering if buying a 14 when 15 are around the corner is smart financially.

Probably more money than it would be worth. You'll do better to get the Altitude because it is already cheaper than a similarly equipped Sahara. The hood decal alone on the Altitude has a suggested retail price of $285.

Wranglers hold their value so I am sure you'll be fine with a 2014. There are used 2013 going for as much as a new 2014.

The closest from me for the 2dr altitude is Tampa. The ones I found were equipped with NAV. Didn't want that option but I guess beggars can't be choosers. How should I go about inquiring about this jeep. I never bought anything so far away. I don't even know what the invoice is. Is edmunds reliable site for invoice.

Negotiations will be the same even if the dealership is out of state. Start by getting the window sticker of the Jeep you are interested in. Visit cars.com to build the vehicle and obtain the invoice. Once you have the numbers you should contact the dealer and offer them no less than 1% below invoice. There are a few people who have been able to get as much as 5% below invoice, however that might be tough considering it is an Altitude. If you find an out of state dealership, you may have to pay for shipping. Below is the link for cars.com:

Available Styles for the 2014 Jeep Wrangler=

P.S. I have yet to see a 2 door Altitude rolling around the streets of Phoenix and in fact have only seen 3 Unlimited on the road here and one of them belongs to me. The Altitudes are going to be pretty limited considering they were the final "special edition" Wrangler build for 2014 and the orders have closed.

Happy shopping :)

And you probably won't ever see one....well...not anytime soon. They are rare.

2 door Alititudes are available....but for 2012, only in Canada.

The Altitude was not produced for 2013, only 2012 and 2014.
Yup

So I have pretty good news I contacted the dealer in Florida and he gave me a car that the MSRP is 3452 for 32,500. 35,000 even out the door. so I would like some comments if that is a good deal and I should pull the trigger.

So which would have better resale value the unlimited with the altitude or the two door

One recommendation would be not to purchase any Jeep with 3.21 gearing if you are planning on lifting it and adding a larger tire.

I just got a 2014 new and got it for 39,366. 2000 of which was taxes, fees, and some other crap. So the price is a little 'eh' to me depending on the mileage. I've got a black Altitude but mi Madre has a white Altitude, both 4 doors if you want pictures.
The biggest problem I have with these though is the 18 inch wheels they come with. I'm selling mine (hopefully) and getting some 16's and 35's for only a couple hundred more with a BB lift than what 35's would cost to put on the 18's. They are special edition though which is nice, and helps retain the value. I got a 4 door cause the extra space is just good for going to the Indy 500 and other random events.

I was looking at a 4 dr here but it has so many options that I would never had chosen. Max tow. Navigation. Remote start. Maybe I should just order a 15 Sahara.
Max tow is a good thing and you want that option if you are planning on lifting it.

Chrysler was nice enough to respond to a email I sent. I asked how many 2012 Altitudes were made with manual out of the 4,500 and they said 367 units. Out of those only 173 were in Black paint. I'd say grab a Altitude if you can. Just another way to have something a little different.
