Altitude Models Return For 2014

2014 Jeep Wrangler Altitude

Based on the Sahara model, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Altitude's exterior highlights include a matte black grille with gloss black throats, head lamp rings and Jeep badge, gloss black front and rear bumper appliques and 18-inch seven-spoke aluminum wheels, a standard body color Freedom Top and matte black "WRANGLER" decal on the hood. The Dual Top with premium Sunrider soft top is optional.

Inside, the Jeep Wrangler Altitude features standard black leather seats with black stitching, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with black painted spokes and black stitching, black finish hex bolts and black painted vent rings and door and instrument panel grab handles. The Wrangler Connectivity Group is also included.

Available in two-door and Unlimited four-door models, the Wrangler Altitude is powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine producing 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. Mated to a standard six-speed manual or available five-speed automatic transmission, Wrangler Altitude employs a Command Trac transfer case with 2.72:1 low range.

The 2014 Jeep Wrangler Altitude is available in Amp'd, Black, Granite Crystal and Hydro Blue. U.S. MSRP is $31,595 for Wrangler two-door models and $35,395 for Wrangler Unlimited models (plus $995 destination).

I really like what they did to the interior!

wow, nice, also is a relative bargain, pricing a sahara with color matched hardtop, connectivity, and leather comes out to about $78 more than the altitude so you get limited edition at a lower price than it would cost for similar sahara.

I agree. Those gloss black accents would look good in my Rubi.

My wife loves her 2012. The leather had red stitching back then which is really nice.

Why can't this package be available in Copperhead or Flame Red???

Maybe I can find the part numbers for the gloss black interior pieces....

Bright White is also offered. I ordered on 3/11/14. Hoping for delivery in late May! This post above me was very helpful. Gave me the quick order code : 24L. In which the dealer had no clue, except the GM.

I had someone tell me that after I order it that the soft top doesn't come w/ it, anyone know differently than that. The standard spec's say otherwise. Will be bummer'd if it doesn't comes w/o a soft top. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks...

I saw one of these on the lot the other day while helping my sister and brother in law pick out their new JKU. I must say, the accents looked pretty good. It's a nice looking package.

You have to order the dual top package to get the soft top.

Does anyone have pics they can post? Mine is on order, scheduled to arrive at dealer 3/14. Jeep has now (FINALLY) opened it up as a model you can build on their website. Sadly, not many pictures to see all the details.

Specifically, the early pictures on the internet didn't show (at least I didn't see) that the hood decal has letters along the edge that is on driver's side of hood. I think it says WRANGLER, but can't tell for sure. Not typically a fan of large banners/words on the vehicle. I ordered a black JKU, so the lettering will be less noticeable. But I still don't like surprises like that. Oh well, I'm sure I'll love everything else about it.

If I'm the first to get one on the forum I'll post all the pics I can.

Yes please post pics, hard to tell from online pics but this is a great package and at a great price so I'm curious how it looks in person.

Pics

hey guys, after posting I did a search on local dealers with altitude models in stock and here are some pics of black, white and blue. strangely the blue one looks like it is missing the hood sticker. It also looks like it says wrangler on the hood sticker and I like the sticker

Is the hood sticker a delete option, like on the Cherokee Trailhawk?

My salesman pulled up a window sticker for an Altitude. One of the things listed was Altitude Delete (maybe Altitude 2.0 delete?). Funny enough, the color of that Jeep was Hydro Blue. So...

(Thanks for the pictures, JerseyMike)

Yep. I found a window sticker for an "in transit" Altitude, and a part of it has (check the second down):
Trac-Lok(R) Differential Rear Axle $ 295
Delete Altitude II Edition Graphics
Uconnect(R) 430N CD/DVD/MP3/HDD/NAV $ 1,095

Sometimes I want to punch Jeep in the throat for pawning off the 2011 75th anv wheels as specical editions. They surf the forum, see how nice they look plasti-dipped, they grab the inventory of rims they could not sell and boom....special edition. But that is another story.

The recycled rims aside, I actually like this edition....especially with the option to dump the stickers. When I was looking at 2012's, I almost ordered the optional 7 spoke rims and planned to plasti-dip them black. There is a nice thread around here on how those rims look in black.

I will also say (Dragon aside), Jeep is getting a lot better on their special edition pricing. If you like an all black interior, this is a nice vehicle.

Hmmm.....how about a Dragon decal delete option?

Hood sticker delete would be a good option. Second thing I did on my '12 (after gutter guarding the grille)....

Wow - thanks so much for posting these. I didn't even think to search dealer inventories. I was under the impression none were on the lot, yet.

I'm really pleased with how black looks, and will keep the decal (even though easily removed after delivery, search on 2012 Altitude Edition).

My only regret is that this package isn't offered in Granite (contrary to the original press release in January). I guess they decided not to compete with the Willy package and similar color scheme there. But Granite would have looked nice with the black wheels and matte black grill & hood decal, IMHO.

The upside is that after pricing the Altitude vs. an identically equipped Sahara, the Altitude was actually a few hundred less. That sealed it for me, since I liked all the black-out options and interior better anyway and was comfortably knowing I was getting all the options I wanted anyway. And without an arbitrary premium for the Altitude package.

Thanks again for the pics. Keep them coming if you come across more Altitudes!
