Smittybuilt tire carrier. Tinted windows. Just plasti-dipped the door locks and antenna but haven't taken pics of that yet.

Great looking jeep... I have the same black altitude and I am looking to do about the same mods. How is the handling with the spacers, lift and tires? A lot different than stock? I keep going back and forth on the AEV 2.5 lift and Teraflex lift. How much road noise from the nitro trail grapplers? Thanks so much!

Although not black, I like the setup as well, and was wondering about the same things!

Ditto on the mods-looks great. It would be nice to see a pic or two straight on from the front or rear to get a feel for how the tires w/spacers fill the wheel wells.

Thanks guys!

The handling is really not that much different than stock with the TF 2.5" lift. I bought the kit w/ shock adapters and reused the factory shocks. As I understood it, the only downside is I don't have quite as much flex because the shocks don't extend as much as aftermarket ones would. I don't get offroad much, so I'm not concerned about that. But I haven't noticed much in the way of a rougher ride... I mean it didn't exactly handle like a Cadillac to begin with. I do slow down a bit more for sharp turns, because the center of gravity has changed, but that'd be the case with any lift.

The Trail Grapplers... man, I couldn't be more happy with that decision. I've gotten a lot of compliments on them. They look aggressive but they are MUCH quieter than I anticipated. With the hard top on and the windows up I don't hear any difference at all. My cousin has BFGs on his Commander and I was surprised at just how loud they are compared to my tires, even at low speed.

With the 1.25" spacers, the tires are almost dead even with the edge of the fenders. They stick out just a hair. There's no rubbing at full lock, very happy about that. Here's some crappy garage pics if it helps:

I recently plasti-dipped the key locks and radio antenna and put in clear turn signals. I also smoked the side markers with VHT Nite-shade so they would match the fenders. I originally ordered smoked sidemarker lenses but they weren't dark enough for the look I wanted.

My next mods (already en route) are tail light guards and removing the silver wrangler decals and replacing them with flat black ones (to match the hood decal). Also going to plastidip the trail rated badge to match.

Thanks for the expanded info, keep us up to date on the build! Now please excuse me, I have to go figure out how to "plasti-Dip"... Lol

Just a fun one for today. A $30 eBay impulse buy and an hour of work later my interior lights match the exterior cherry joy

It's actually really easy man. Buy something like this:

4pc 7 Color 72 LED neon Interior Foot Well Lights Kit

Which will run you about $35. To install:
  1. Remove the LHS door inside trim to expose the wiring loom (2012 models). It's just two plastic plugs at the door opening and pull directly outwards on the front section to pull out the front 2 plugs.
  2. Pull away the carpet adjacent to the shifter in the LHS foot well. I found a place where I could put the controller module that comes with the lights. My idea was to tuck it behind the back of the console when not in use but be able to access it to make adjustments.
  3. The module has just 2 wires which are ran underneath the carpet towards the LHS door.
  4. Connect the ground wire to the grounding nut found behind the trim panel that you previously removed.
  5. Tap the positive wire into the dome light loom wire (Yellow with white stripe). This will make the lights work only when the doors are opened or the accessory lights are on. If you want a constant power or an active interior light switch you'll have to search for those wires online or use a multimeter. I was going for subtle and don't need the lights on at any time except as a nice glow with the auto dome light.
  6. Run the light tubes under the carpet and find good positions for them. I used zip ties and secured them under the dash and glovebox in the front and attached them to the very rear of the front seats for the rear passengers. It's pretty easy to route the wires, keep them hidden and make sure they do not foul with the seat movement.
  7. Set the power module to the right color and auto on.
  8. Put everything back together
That's it. Completely invisible install and seamless slow fade on with the standard auto interior lights. The kit I bought has several colors available but I'm loving the red welcoming glow

Looks good! I like that!

Today I stripped off the silver Wrangler decals and replaced them with flat black ones (found on eBay). Also added Altitude and American Flag decals from pixeldecals.com. Oh, and I plasti-dipped the Trail Rated badge so it'd match.

Tough to get a good pic... it looks MUCH better in person.

Everyone's setups look great! Really like your choice there, redz. Had my deep cherry 4 weeks today, but unfortunately got in an accident on Saturday and droppped it off at the collision center this morning. Hoping to turn the front bumper into an aftermarket one!

My Altitude

DSCN0777 by DSohmer, on Flickr[/IMG]

I've had it about six weeks. Bought the soft top from the dealer as part of the deal. Haven't done much to it. Shorty antenna, sill guards, taillight protectors, vent visors.

Planned mods: 35's on the stock rims, gussets and trusses to support them. Lift and suspension upgrade to allow the 35's, keep the stock DS and still have a great time at Uwharrie.

All comments, recommendations, suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

This is a great message board.

Welcome to the Altitude club! I'm about 1.5 hrs from Uwharrie (SW Charlotte, near Lake Wylie). Sadly, I've only been there once but it was a great time!

Christmas came early! Quadratec hooked me up with free shipping it came in one day to my surprise. Anyway.....
Rugged ridge taillight covers.
I put a more detailed description over in "what did you do to jk thread"
MORE dead pedal.
Qtec mats front and rear
Mopar DCR touch up paint (just in case)
Bestop drivers side lock box. It rocks.
Mopar door sill protectors.
All parts were perfect and installed in an hour. My Altitude decals also came. I have not put them on yet... Enjoy pics to follow...... This app keeps crashing though.

Correcting myself here guys, for some reason I wrote LHS (Left Hand Side) when I actually meant "passenger side".

Finally had a chance to install the bumpers today. Went with an E-AutoGrilles for the rear and the Smittybilt XRC MOD in the front. What a challenge for the front bumper!

Ha! Skins stink this year so I'm focusing on Jeep projects. Probably should have planned to do the bumpers tomorrow afternoon vs. watching another debacle?
