She wants winter chill, but jeep isn't making them anymore. She's hoping that hydro blue is a good blue color.
I admit I wasn't a fan after riding in the dealer's rig. But it is nothing like the ride in our JKU. Maybe it wasn't aired up right, or they had crappy tires or something. But once he let me drive it ... he was doomed!

To the OP: has your wife driven your jeep yet? Maybe if you give her some behind the wheel time, she'll realize that she does like it.

I've had a minivan for the last 12 years and up until we got the JKU I said I would never own anything else. But the visibility and steel bumper have made me a jeep convert. It would have to be a four door with a hard top, but I think it could make a good baby mobile. (And HELL NO, that's not why I want one! )

I just forgot how much FUN it is to go wheeling in sugar sand, and I'm not about to go back to a 50cc Honda!

And hydro blue looks AWESOME in the color chips! Now if only there was a release date!

I am going to trade the wife's CRV in soon, but not a Wrangler. I need one of my vehicles to be a comfy luxo barge. So, we will be getting a Grand Cherokee Summit with a diesel when they come out.

Wife and I had an XJ and a KJ (I know, not a "real" jeep, but it is technically a Jeep). Her business outgrew the KJ, so now she's got a sweet copperhead pearl grand caravan.

Its pretty simple man. Get what your wife wants.

She really drives my Jeep more than me back and forth to work Mon-Fri my commute is way longer so I was using her old car which needs a new engine now no fault of mine. She likes the Jeep now more than when I was looking for one. Always asking for me to take the top off for her before she goes to work. I think more against 2 of the same cars even though hers would be a new 2 door. It's her car so not going force anything on her

Crazier than what? Wanting jewelry? Wanting cable? Wanting a trip to the Bahamas? Most of the choices we make are about wants not needs. So two - three- four- jeeps ... I say do what you want. Car ownership isn't about ethics lol.

HOWEVER... I like having a jeep and an elegant sedan . Different moods and versatility . I also have a restored mgb. Dumb thing to own but fun.

Whatever you do, please buy a different color Jeep. I think owning two Jeeps that are the same color is crazy. I personally can't wait to order my JKU because then I will have a old (84 CJ7)Jeep and new Jeep!

I can roll retro or high tech

I got the first one in 2008 JKRU. Then my neighbor sold me a YJ for my son to drive. I think he likes it. Then one day last spring my wife spots a 2008 JKR in a used car lot. I went and checked it out. My main criteria was met when I saw that it was a 6 speed. Didn't want an auto since we just had to replace one in her car. Within a few days, it was sitting in our driveway. We are now a three wrangler family. My wife keeps telling me how she loves her new ride. It took her a little courage to put it in 4WD this past winter but once she got the hang of it driving over the mountain to work she can't get enough of it. She claims that once in 4WD it is like putting it on rails. Anywhere she points it, it goes. Even in tough driving conditions in the snow. I like how easy they are to work on. I did a rear axle seal and bearing on her jeep and it came out great. There are a lot of reasons to like a jeep.

The OP pretty much answered his own question once he stated his wife is against it.

Fortunately my GF would rather drive a Jeep or Truck than something like a Honda Civic (not to knock any one who owns a Civic, just doesn't float my boat).

But owning two Jeeps isn't crazy at all if you can afford it. What is crazy is having two car payments when they live paycheck to paycheck or having two cars when they're broke.

We just picked up a 2013 JKU & we already decided we'll pick up the next generation once it comes out (2016?).

My wife will not give up the mini van and will not drive standard, so she is hopeless, however my 3 sons have all expressed interest in Jeeps when they are old enough... They are soon to be 12, 11, and 7 so we have a few years yet, but I am guessing we will have a squadron of jeeps when the time comes...lol

My Jeeps are a 1998 Cherokee Sport that I use for exploring the back country, Rock Crawling and as a spare daily driver, 2002 GC Laredo as a alternate daily driver and a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport S as a daily driver.

One nice thing I have noticed about having his and hers jeeps, is it is a lot more quite inside my jeep now when we go off roading ;-)

It was my turn for another vehicle so we went looking at JKU's. Before I knew it the wife was driving home in her new Jeep. Nine months later I got to take mine home.
I asked my wife about a week ago if she would ever own anything other than a Jeep and she gave me the old "not no but Hell no". Yep, no qualms with a multiple Jeep family at all.

You know, with the 4 door - it has taken away the argument that a jeep is not a family vehicle. My four door replaced a caravan. I love it. My wife has trouble backing up without hitting things. She loves the maneuverability of the two door. It turns on a dime and she sits up high. She jokes that it is her get the hell out of my way I'm coming through vehicle. Personally I think the power has gone to her head. I'm joking of course because she is actually a very timid person (except for the jeep)

Neither of those options are even close to being a jeep if you ask me. Even if jeep makes one of them.

the 2014 grand cherokee isnt even cool. They've completely ruined it. Looks about as cool as a 1985 plymouth voyager if you ask me. But i know everyone doesn't share my tastes.

Escalades are silly because the GMC Yukon Denali is almost exactly the same truck. For over 10,000 less, comparing brand new to brand new. Just sayin'. I do like them when they're unmolested though. Most of them seem to have 88 inch rims on them around here though.
