Am I crazy for wanting a second jeep in the household?

Long story short I just bought a used jku. Love it no problems ect. The Mrs is currently in the market for a new car and while I'm helping her with the search I just can't find a better value than a second jk (she would be able to buy new) She is completely against it but for the life of me can't figure out why with the other car options out there for the money nothing seems to be close. maybe cause im just a Wrangler fan i dont know. Would you guys add a 2nd jeep to the household or is that overkill.

In September 2012, I picked up a Gecko JKU to replace a Ford Explorer. The wife took it over and drives it exclusively. I got tired of 11 mpg and parking my behemoth F350 4wd truck and I started looking around. Almost a month ago.I bought a JK/R.

I love the mileage, the ease of driving and parking, u-turns are a snap, and the soft top is far better than what I remember on my CJ5. The only problem with it is that when ever I go anywhere, my German Shepherd insists on riding along. He is certain that it is his Jeep.

I don't care for most of the vehicles out on the market and I don't want a Corvette [too cliche]. European cars are nice, but it is a 75 mile trip one way just for scheduled maintenance. The Jeep has the right amount of simplicity, driving enjoyment, individuality, parts commonality between vehicles is simplified, and I save in having to buy specialty tools to work on only one type of vehicle. Parts are easy to find and the dealership isn't at the other end of the County.

Two Jeeps work for my family.

We have two Wranglers: my 2012 JKU Sport, the wife's 2013 JKU Oscar Mike.

We love them both and the purchase of one prompted the purchase of the other.

Similar scenario here.

I bought my original Jeep 2010 JKU R and after about 2 weeks we traded her VW Golf in for her brand new 2011 JK. She loves it.

So ..... are you crazy??? HELL NO!..

Nope, not crazy at all! I have a 1970 CJ5 and a 1984 CJ7. I am waiting for granite crystal to become available and I will be ordering a 2014 JKU.

I will be selling the CJ5 soon.

2 Jeeps is a good number

I don't know why anyone would want more than one Jeep in their stable.

You certainly should have as many Jeeps as you want.

I think it would be silly to have 2 jeeps. Great opportunity to try something new...there are a ton of cool cars out there...

Me?
No...probably not.... We have a new baby on the way (actually a day overdue) and my wife's 2011 Rav4 is the perfect baby-mobile.

But I can see how others could easily be a 2 Wrangler household. A guy at work is in a two Wrangler (JK and JKU) household.

My wife is just not a Jeep girl. Fortunately, she is a 4wd pickup kinda girl, which are also nice to have around.

In many cases, more is not better- it's just more. In this case, more is better.

My wife and I both bought brand new 2013s this year. Heck, they both barely fit in our tiny garage. Why did we do it? 1. We wanted to and 2. We wanted to.

Oh and also...

We wanted to.

If your wife is completely against it and it's going to be her daily driver then yes, you are crazy. All that's going to happen if you get your way is that you're going to get earache from her.

My wife loves my Jeep but she has never driven it and has no desire to. She loves driving her Mini Cooper, we're both happy.

The missus has an '09 JK on 37's that is not in this shot. The 3 of us are with 3 of our rigs.

Bought our first jeep JKU in November, wife wasn't a fan but was very supportive of my midlife crisis. Now after 6 months, she loves it and wants one too! They are a great value, but mods X2 is going to put us in the poor house! But if it makes her happy, she can have whatever she wants, because if mommas not happy... Well you know the rest.

She wants winter chill, but jeep isn't making them anymore. She's hoping that hydro blue is a good blue color.

i have a 2013 jku my son has a yj and a samurai. We almost bought my wife a jku but ended up with a ford edge. So if shes not into jeeps prolly not because you have to live with her but i agree the value of jeeps are great.

For shame! A second Jeep?!?? Is there no limit to your greed?! Appalling!

(I'm kidding)

Seriously though, if you can afford it, get it.

If I were you, I would not... because I didn't buy the same.
I don't understand why people bought multiples of same cars or trucks. To me, it's boring, I want diversities.
As said, I have a Miata and a JKU to blast thru some curvy mountain roads or go offroad.

Yea not going force anything. IMHO just the cars in that price range 20s were everyday run of the mill boring cars accords camrys ect. The jeep just has more personality and functionality and with high resale value I figured she can trade it in about a yr and get what she really wanted because she really wanted a higher end car. We have a little one on way and her car unexpectedly went up beyond repair so we are just forced to buy something before we really wanted to. But oh well bottom line her choice, I glad to see so many multiple jeep households though

This. Have you compared a base model grand Cherokee 4x4 and the JKU. Aren't they about the same price? I was pushing the GC on my wife for a while, but she insisted on so.ethjng bigger.

2008ish Cadillac escalade runs around 30k. Plenty of options.
