OP:

I'm one of those who prefers the 18" stock Sahara rims. The biggest tire I could fit without lift/changing rims was 275/65/18 Kelly TRS.

After 11000 miles since replacing the OEM 2 ply Duelers, I'm completely satisfied.

Note: the turn bump/stop had to be adjusted about 1/4" or so for no rub.

If you want larger tires you likely will need to change BS/etc.

Good luck. Post photos.

I'm right there with you Cocky Grin, I do not care for all Black wheels, they do look good on some Jeeps I will admit. I still haven't replaced my stock wheels partly because I haven't found anything that really says "buy me" yet but I'm still looking.

IL road salt killed the polished aluminum Mickeys on my Superduty and brake dust is a given, so I ordered matte black XD Addicts for my inbound Jeep. So my mentality is; " I have a Wrangler and its probably going to get dirty" mentality.

Not the best lighting on the picture, but mine aren't black they are a charcoal Grey Teflon coated. I chose them for two reasons, the first being easy to clean and the second was because I loved the look on my Crush JKU.

I had polished aluminum on my 02 TJ and they were a nightmare to keep clean. I swore I would never do that again.

Looks great! And I agree about polished wheels. They are a damn nightmare. Had polished Weld Draglites on my old notchback. If I had known about plasti-dip back then, I definitely would have done them!

I like and put drab, non-flashy black wheels on my 4x4s (all of which have been black) because it makes them look a little more military, and I work in D.C., where you rarely find anyone who would consider doing such a thing anything but outrageous. It also kind of seems to say that it's not just a blinged-out urban vehicle. It's my anti-urbanite tendency against flashiness at work. I would have kept the stock wheels if they had more BS and were 1-1/2" wider. But, since I had to get new wheels, I got what I wanted.

I love black rims, white rims, and anything NOT chrome on a JEEP. I went with the FUEL "Throttle" and I really like the black and silver contrast.

My plan right now is to order one AR615873 15X5 American Racing Outlaw I wheel mounted on a 33X15X12.50 Goodyear Duratrac through Discount Tire and actually try to mount it. If it works, then I'll take that one home and order 4 more. If it doesn't work, I'll pay a restocking fee on the wheel, keep the tire and settle for some other wheel - probably one that everyone else has. LOL

In response to the suggestion that they may hold mud. I did not have that experience on my last set, or trouble keeping the satin finish clean.

I think the main thing to remember is that it is your Jeep and you can outfit it any old way you please, because ultimately it doesn't need to please anyone else but little old you.

Alright, now who wants waffles?

"am i the only one that's not loving black wheels????"

I swear to gawd. If there was a post that said:

"Am I the only one who doesn't like Edsels?" Someone would come out of the woodwork with 16 photos of the their Edsel collection.

Why do people feel compelled to do that?
