Hello!

New jeep owner, 2017 JKU Sahara. I have been shopping around for a lift and have decided the 2.5 might be the best option for my daily driver(mostly freeway)

question, i'm thinking about pairing the teraflex kit with 4 Fox shocks..does anyone have this exact setup on their JKU? what can i expect after the install? will the jeep ride better than stock on freeway? or should i just go with the forum approved Rancho 5000 or 9000 shocks?

thanks in advance and sorry for another 2.5 lift thread.

I like the RS9000s just for their adjustability factor. Winter time the oil is thick, setting on 3. Summertime oil flows easy, setting on 6. Towing setting on 8.

Plus you will save $190

oh yeah, this is the kit that I have on mine. The rear axle shifted an inch to the drivers side. Not a function issue, but my OCD drove me nuts. I got a adj. rear trackbar and it fixed right up. Also probably need an exhaust spacer and geometry correction brackets.

I would also say you need a front adjustable track bar as well.

Also look at AEV 2.5 with geo brackets. Love mine and rides great with 35's.

Resurrecting this post..... but, I am looking at the AEV 2.5 and 35s. You said it rides great, but how would you compare it to stock? I want my Jeep to have this look, but I hate the thought of sacrificing the handling and the ride quality from stock. Is there a happy medium?

I have the rancho 9000s so cannot comment on the Fox. I have geo correction brackets and adjustable track bars front and rear. I could have gone without rear track bar, but my OCD got the better of me and I just HAD to get perfectly centered. Run my Ranchos on "5" and have 35" duratrac tires on it.

That said.... It rides great

for mostly on road not sure you will ever find anything better. I have been impressed with my new cooper st maxx's in the wet. very smooth and quite to boot yet look pretty beefy.

Aev

I've had the AEV 2.5" on my DD (2014 JKU Sport) for about 8 months. I drive 80 miles round trip to work daily and I love the AEV lift. Ride is a bit firmer than stock but I think it feels better and is a bit more responsive and puts me more in touch with the road. I added the geo correction brackets, an adjustable front track bar and new rear sway bar links and moved the rears to the front. Paired the lift with 295/70 17" Mickey Thompson ATZ P3's.

Set up is great for highway and handles what I need for off road....I don't rock crawl.

My wife has a '16 Rubicon and I agree that the stock MT's are horrible. Those are going next week and being replaced with Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Putting a TF Performance leveling kit on it too.
