Another bumper thread

Hey all, I know there are plenty of bumper threads out there but trying to find them all in the phone app is a real pain in the you know. So the question is..... I just bought a jkur and want to put a winch on it. Don't really want to invest in a new bumper as it is not really my pound it hard jeep. That's what the tj is for. Anyway can a winch be attached on a stock jkur bumper and be plenty strong? Any experience and pictures would help greatly. Also thinking about the quadratec 11500 for the winch. Thanks in advance!

Unless you have a 10th anv you have the same bumper as everyone else iirc. All you need is a winch plate (~$100) to mount your winch to. If you're wanting to keep the stock look I've seen guys mount TJ winch plates upside-down to create a "hidden winch" look (i.e. the winch is in the bumper). Not my pic, just one I found online of a hidden winch:

The winch surely is not upside down though right? No way to mount one on top of the bumper? Seems like jeep surely would have thought that one through Better than that.

There are, thats what I said. Guys either use JK mounts to put it on top or TJ mounts to put it in the bumper itself. It's all really just personal preference since an electric motor doesnt care if its upside down or not.

I do kind of like that stock look but seems like there would be a lot of cutting and modding.
