Another softop question, with a twist!

My 08 top is not closing all the way. It's about 1/2 an inch from the channel it's designed to sit in. Has anyone had or heard of this problem and a fix for it?

Got any pics? Do you mean at the windshield? There is a good video on the Jeep website of how to raise and lower the JK soft top.

If you are looking at the rubber molding on top of the windshield there is a channel the top should set in. This eliminates excess wind noise and leaking. Mine falls about 1/2 an inch from the channel. I just wondered if anyone else had this problem and if there was a quick fix for it. I'm stationed in Hawaii and the dealership is clueless here. I tried to explain the problem and they gave me the deer in the headlights look!

I have raised and lowered my soft top 30 or more times and have never encountered the problem you are talking about. Are you trying to latch the front with the sail panels or side windows in? That might cause enough tension to keep the front from lining up.

Or are you talking about a hard top?

Kinda need more info

They are about $1500 from the dealer. Bestop has them for about $850. I got mine for $750 from a guy that got the dual top option and didn't want his, And there is always EBay. They are a tad noisier but not too bad.

I have a soft top I am selling that came with my 07' Sahara, if you are interested? It has been on the vehicle once & looks to be in excellent condition. Let me know if you are interested, I guess it is worth about $800 + shipping, jules10059@yahoo.com
