AntennaX antenna not as advertised?

So I ordered an antenna from antenna X... its not what was on the picture... its a completely different shape... which I wouldn't mind... however the 2 pieces that attach to eachother don't match up... the one piece has notches on it and the other piece is flat so theres gaps between the notches as seen in the pics...

when I asked them "why are there notches on this piece if it doesnt lock into anything?" via e-mail they said "thats how it is made"

Use a Dremel then just touch up with some black matte.

Return it and order the 14" black metal one from shorty antenna source. That's what I have, and it came exactly as described and fit in place perfectly.

I have one too and, while I noticed it was different, I didn't think much of it.

Actually, I thought it was a better design to allow for the antenna to be "rotated" on its base for better aesthetics (it seemed to 'click' as I rotated it).

Mine had a natural curve that I was able to rotate to follow the rake of the windshield. The base seemed to allow for that adjustment.

I think I might like that better (or I'm trying to validate my decision) than the completely vertical antenna (no disrespect to others who have that version). It makes it almost disappear... to me, at least.

I'll post a pic later if anyone cares to look.

I had the exact same issue...ended up just mounting it without the second peice and blacked out the small gap where the bolt is showing...looks fine and it was $14...can't complain I suppose!

Mine looks the same as that, but im not too worried about it for $15. the only issue i have is the lack of reception on some channels when in a parkin garage or outside of the city which wasnt an issue before, but the size is well worth it in my opinion, especially since i stream pandora from my phone most of the time
