Only way I know is to jack it up. Turn one wheel and if the other side turns same direction your LSD. If other wheel doesn't turn or turns opposite direction it's open..

Or you can lay down some rubber and look at the strips ;p

It'll be listed on the window sticker, in the right hand column under options. If it's there, you have it.

You might also ask the dealer to print out your Jeep's "build sheet" for you. Everything on your Jeep will be listed in great detail.

If it's a (2012) Rubicon, it has limited slip. If not, check the Manrony (sp?) Lable. Limited slip will be listed as an option. Ask your salesperson, contrary to opinion, they have to be truthful about what you are buying. Don't accept delivery until you are satisfied. Finally, Wrangler limited slip diffs are electrically actuated, look for the wire bundle coming out of each diff. Open diffs won't have any wire bundles attached. Just my $0.02.

Rubicons have lockers. When not engaged they are open diffs.

LSD is an option on other trim levels

You are describing E-lockers, not LSD. Every JK Rubicon has E-lockers, nothing special about the 2012.

I agree, I was using lsd and e-locker interchangeably, I Don't believe you can order anything but án e-locker from the dealer. All jeeps also have "electronic limited slip" built into the traction control system.

Always worth the money and it will work when it has to. You dont have to turn it on or off like the mentioned lockers.
