Anti-theft code

Is the anti-theft code for the radio(430n) the same as the code you would use to reprogram the keys? I'm buying a 430N from a forum member here and he didn't have the code but have me his VIN. My dealership looked up his VIN and they were unfamiliar with a code for the radio but have me a 4 digit PIN that wa associated with the vin that would allow you to reprogram the keys. Hope this will work for the radio too.

Starting in 2012 model year radios will come equipped with an anti-theft feature. Once a
radio is installed in a vehicle, it learns the vehicle’s VIN and cannot be used in another
vehicle unless an anti-theft code is applied.

CODE
or

will appear on the display.
4. Enter the 4-digit code by pressing the corresponding preset buttons in sequence.

dealership can get the anti theft code with the vin and radio serial number, that is all that is needed. if the dealer goes to dealerconnect then clicks on the service tab at the bottom middle of the screen is the "UCONNECT INFORMATION & UTILITIES" box and the radio code is the top line in that section. easy

I have never paid attention to see if the radio code is the same pin number used to program keys but I would really doubt it

why don't you just take it to your dealer or call them with the vin and radio serial number and have them give you the code?
