I dont have either but I am surprised no one has said to search the jk pictures section. Those two colors have their own posts dedicated to people showing them off!
I went anvil. When I first saw tank 8 didn't like it, was expecting a lighter green sort of like the green from the rattle can camo line. Now that I've seen tank a few times I really like it but would still get anvil.
This was my dilemma as well. After seeing both side by side I went with tank mainly because I preferred a darker color. The anvil was just a shade too light for me.
if going for uniquness - go tank, it will only be in production for one year as apposed to Anvil which is in it's third year if you include the 10a. I personally went with Anvil last year.
Every time I see an Anvil I think to myself " Great Color! Wish I had gotten that one instead of black".
Same with Hydro and that Urine Yellow color (OK, not the most flattering description but I forgot the name offhand). But those two both are a little too "Look at ME!" whereas Anvil is a little more subtle.
Every time I see Tank I think nothing because they blend in and do not stand out at all. Like my black.
Naturally, my opinion is worth everything you just paid for it.
Tank is good, but I chose Anvil for the same reason some say it's played out. It's on its third year which means color matching stuff is eager to find than A color that runs only one year. Bust your grill? No problem, find another on Craigslist for $100. Want color match flairs? Same thing...plus, it's gorgeous. Nuff said.
I love both. If both had been available this spring when I ordered my Anvil, it would have been agonizing.
However...
I would have landed on Anvil, despite being a lover of Green vehicles, and especially SUVs. My last three beaters have been green (Elements in Galapagos and Kiwi, and a Cherokee in Hunter), and I was very disappointed that when I was ready to order a Wrangler they weren't offering any green for the first time since, like, 1940.
But the Anvil...
Oh, man, that one speaks to me. It is so different. The lack of metallic flakes, the chameleon nature of the hue as the light changes (a trait admittedly shared with the Tank color), the Air Force or Navy Jeep look as opposed to the ubiquitous Army Jeep, the fact that everyone who sees Tank and isn't really up on recent Jeep lore will think it's just another OD Wrangler, of which there have been many varieties over the years. Whereas, anyone who ever comments on my Wrangler mentions the uniqueness of the shade.
So that would be the tipping point for me. But, my best friend just ordered and received a 2015 JKU Sport in Tank, and it's a beauty. No apologies for that one either.

Anvil and Tank were the only 2 colors I was interested in going to after sahara Tan. I chose Tank and could not be happier. I see a lot of anvil Jeeps in the area. You cant go wrong with either.
I waited to put my order in until I could see a picture of Tank, because I liked the idea of a green Jeep. I thought it was a bit too dark and I was hoping for something similar to Commando Green (which I LOVE). Thought about waiting to see it in person but decided I didn't want a dark colored jeep.
I had ruled out several colors, Anvil included, but when I saw a Rubi on the lot in Anvil that my wife pointed out to me, I added it back on the list. It grew on me, ended up driving 15 min past work one day to look at some more Anvils, placed the order that week and don't regret it at all. Especially in the Willys edition.

I have a bright white '15 jku and I love it! The only color I'd trade it for would be Tank. I would have waited for Tank to open for production, but I really couldn't. I was close to ordering Anvil as well. I personally don't think you can go wrong with either Tank or Anvil, but I'd go Tank.
Even tho I have anvil, I'd probably choose tank next time. It looks pretty sweet in person.
