Hello all so i have a buddy giving away stock shocks from him rubicon unlimited brand new i have a new sahara lifted with a tera flex leveling kit will i get any benefits from having these ?? Tia and how hard is it to install them
My buddy gave me his Rubi shocks for my Sahara. While easy to install, it proved to be a waste of time and effort. It was well worth the $ to install Ranchos on my 08JK. Had I known how good they worked, I would have done it when I purchased at 15000, rather than wait a couple years.
In my instance, the Rubi shocks, although virtually new, did NOT work well on stutter-bump gravel roads and cobblestone pavement. I couldn't give them away & eventually just trashed them.
Speaking of which: I have a set of Rubicon shocks (with about 10,000 miles on them) sitting in my garage here in Los Angeles; if anyone local is interested to pick them up they are yours.
IMO, if you can get a set for practically free ... do it. There are way too many other things to spend the money on. I have a Rubi and opted to keep my shocks and put on the TF 2.5" lift with shock extenders. Love it.
