Highly unlikely there will be any changes other than colors.

Its starting already! LOL. I don't know if there has been any 2014 talk yet, because all the 2013 stuff is still in flux. But I also doubt there will be anything substantial. They just released a new gauge assembly in the Rubi "10thA" edition, so maybe something like that if anything.

Looks like the 255/75-17 tire size will finally go away in favor of more common sizes that were already on the market before the JK. 245/75 and 265/70 will probably be around in their place. We're already seeing these sizes on 2013 special editions, and the 2013 literature removed all mention of specific tire brands in preparation of this move.

That's not correct, if anything the 8 speed will come with the redesign in 15-16. It's only been 2 years with the current 5 speed auto, it's too soon to be replacing the auto trans.

I know there is a new yellow coming and some cool special editions.

Tires will most likely be KM2s for the Runicons and there is mention of Duratracs on the other models.

Get one now, before the world ends! 2013s are just the second year into the new engine. Alot of folks were waiting or traded in for the new engine. So now is just as good of a time as any. Plus there has been rumors that the 2015-16 may be way altered or neutered essentially.

I think 2014 is going to be a great year if you want the latest and greatest wrangler without being a tester for the next gen.

I plan to get a top of the line 2014 Sahara while I wait on the 2nd or maybe even third year after the redesign.

I just hope they still have a dark red color like dark cherry red.

I only have 5400km (3355mi) on my 2012, had it since April and zero problems. I do think 2012s get a bad wrap due to the cylinder head problems on early 3.6's.

Pat, any word on the name of the new yellow? Detonator Yellow was a great color, I would have considered it but it was no longer around by the time I was ready to buy. Oh well, I love Gecko anyways!

Also non-removeable doors, elimination of the half door, and a non-removeable hard top!

$5 says the 2014s gets the EVIC found in the 10th anniversary Rubicon. I can't really see them keeping that particular part exclusive to a one off model.

It's just a matter of time. It won't happen in 2014 but the new 2017 Wrangler is a good bet for huge changes. With fuel economy and safety mandates getting stronger with each passing year, it's going to be harder and harder to make a case for building a single vehicle with solid axles and real truck frame/suspension underneath when nobody else in the country is doing the same. There is not one single vehicle left like the Wrangler in the U.S. Every other company abandoned this setup years ago for what in their minds was a good reason. How long can Jeep continue to be the only one in this sandbox? It won't last forever. And just look at the warranty costs and nightmare that they are having with removable top leaks. The bean counters at Chrysler would probably love to get rid of the removable top, straight axles, and all that stuff and go with something more like the Toyota FJ.

I would think 2015 would the year for some more drastic changes. 2014 will probably be pretty much the same with some minor tweaks. JMO

I've had my jk for almost four years now and not once has it ever leaked. But you bring up a good point. CAFE (that's the name of the government organization that is trying to make every car a Prius) has been beefed up under Obama boy over here. I read somewhere that by 2020 or 2030 cars will be needing at least 30 mpg to stay within regulation. It's sickening. We should be focusing on how to make gas burn cleaner, not longer.

Yet these huge corporations are allowed to burn as much awful smoke in their huge factories as much as they want because they buy the poloticians their "vote for me" signs. Sickening.

They better not regulate the wrangler out of business. If I want to to spend half my weekly paycheck on gas that's MY CALL. I'll be damned if the government tells me how to live my life.

^ 99.9% sure we won't see the 8 speed in the Wrangler. According to my source who has been dead on about alot of other things the 8 speed won't make it into production for 2014.

My guess is we won't see the 8 speed until the redesign which if we follow history should be 2016.

Wouldn't the redesign be on a 2017 model? 1987, 1997, 2007, 2017?

They really need to get the 8-speed in by 2015 due to CAFE. There were a number of articles just a few months ago, so I'm surprised to hear it won't be going into the next MY Wrangler. Not that you can trust anything on the internet, but the articles mentioned that they're planning on dumping 8 and 9 speed units into everything for fuel economy reasons. Also, they want to get away from the 5 speed benz auto and into the ones they have license to manufacture.

2014 MY Advanced Information

Sources close to my imagination have informed me that the 2014 JK and JKU will receive extensive modifications:
  1. Stealth option. Only problem is it's hard to find after you park it.
  2. Canine pilot option. Advances in Jeep technology will enable dogs to be able to operate Jeeps. Gage cluster will be in MPH/KPH and DPH (Dogs per hour scale). Upside? Go to the party, get hammered and ol' Tippy can drive you home.
  3. New wheel sizes of 21.19235 inches. Engineered so that the 24 frames per second math that causes tires to appear to be going backward on television will now look as if they are spinning forward. Will enhance Jeep commercials.
  4. Doors will now open from the front to the back. This was done to supply "air breaking" for the new 5000 HP Lycoming Turbine motor that will be introduced in '14
  5. The spare tire will be mounted on the hood like the old Land Rover Defenders. Difference will be that it will be sping loaded (with a catapult) to help deal with those left lane bandits that do 12 MPH in the left lane.
  6. A new Bluetooth option that will automatically transmit your ATM card info to the machine as soon as you pull up to the bank. Will save time of taking you card out, putting it into the ATM, entering a PIN and yada, yada, yada...
This is all I have for now. I expect further information from the mother ship as soon as she enters the orbit of uranius...
