Neither being a rubicon or a 2012 will make much of a difference in terms of the look. Here are some examples:

Google image search "JKU half doors" or "jkur half doors." Hundreds of pics.

Just kidding.

I put a bikini/extension top on and took the front set off.

Here's one that might work...

Web shade ,safari top etcetera .
A web shade is going to be VERY different than a "top up but windows out" type of thing.

A typical top doesn't allow heat to go out moving upward, even with the windows out--it essentially holds heat right on your head. It's the worst at stop lights etc, but it's hot even driving on the highway.

By contrast, the web shade I have is night and day cooler on a hot day. Of course, the web shade does basically nothing to hold off a rain shower.

Thanks Mike. Great intel. I 'm in southern California with very little annual rain and ave. temps in the mid to high 70s.

A web shade would be perfect for you.
