Looking for any pics of stock wheel setup with Metalcloak Overline or Overland flares in place? I haven't decided on the future of my Hard Rock's lift or tire size, but would love to get the flares in place this summer. I'm just concerned that they won't look good as good as they should with the stock Rubicon shoes. Or, maybe they look even better than I imagined. Anyone in the same boat?
Just installed my MC Overland flares this past weekend, not a fun install but they look pretty bad ass on my 16 White JKUR. I have a MC 3.5 LIFT with 315/70 GY Duratracs... I always thought my tires looked small before.....but now they look a heck of a lot smaller.....jeep still looks really good though, define try gave it a customized look... had the tube and undersurface powder coated black and the tops painted white to match the jeep.
But I installed the flares knowing I was swapping axles and putting on 37" so unless your going 35s or higher it may not be the look your going for.
I am waiting for my Overland fenders to ship. I plan to use my stock HR wheels with 315/70/17 tires. I'll post some photos whenever it all comes together (hopefully, sooner rather than later).
Thanks for the opinions, guys. Was hoping I could get away with the HR wheels but will have to really think about it now.
mwmoon, good luck with the install. Def post up the pics when you finish. I had some bad experiences with nutserts a few years ago, I'll be praying for you...
Ha! I will need all the prayers I can get if I have to tackle this job on my own. I am not looking forward to the nutserts based on what I have read. My uncle is a retired mechanic and my brother just installed his own Metalcloaks not too long ago, so maybe I can talk one or both of them into some assistance.
I'll definitely post up some photos once the job is done.
Your wheels will look fine, especially with spacers.
What you need is bigger tires to fill the space.
