Stock. Ha!!!

You stay on here for more than 5 minutes and you will lose money. It probably costs 50 bucks an hour just to surf this forum.

All I've done so far is stuff the sound bar and sub woofer with poly fill. I figure I will wait until the registration, tags, and title come in before I start to get into any projects. It's only 2 weeks old.

Project #1: Better Headlights!

This was my garage a couple weeks before I even took delivery of my Jeep.

But I still think stock Jeeps rock, too.

Stock here. Other than changing out the tires for a set of Michelin LTX blackwalls in 1 size larger, mine is just as it came from the factory in Jan '11.

350 miles and still stock, I did order some floor liners but since they are not here yet- stock. I am planning on tinting my front windows soon and getting some armor for the auto transmission oil pan, put a stick through it the day after I brought it home from the dealer, less than 100 miles and leaking transmission oil all over the driveway.

After reading this forum for a while my head is spinning, so many mods but I love it stock too so the mods will wait.

Mine is pretty much stock besides a custom magnaflow catback I had done about 4 months ago. 2011 JKUR is pretty sweet compared to my previous 99 WJ of 10 years. Sure I got plans to mod like most everyone....hope to do 37's regear and lift in about 6 months but the last 10 months have been putting a smile on my face in stock Rubi stance.... I may not be the biggest rig on the road but even the big trucks respect the Rubi here in MN, and know it ain't no BS machine...this thing is built to survive!

Probably worse than stock! I removed the rubicon rock rails and replaced them with the Sahara side steps. My wife is 5'3" and had trouble getting in to the Rubicon. Otherwise, completely stock Rubicon.

It will stay stock until I break something.

I got grab handles and "decals" -- steps came from dealer/factory. 2012 JK Sport cosmos Blue...known as TRU BLU to us. New floor mats FRI....Baseline 4x4 less than $50.

I don't really look at these things as "Mods" but some people do.

I kinda think like 20 Year....when things start breaking than the Mods begin. I still have a ways to go on the TJ

The only thing I've added is Rugged Ridge step rails, some grab handles and all-weather floor mats. Would do more if I could. In my mind, the whole thing is built up!

3.5" Skyjacker Lift
Warn Rock Crawler Front and Rear Bumper
Exhaust - currently undecided (suggestions?)
Banks Ram-Air Intake
33" Duratracs on powder-coated stock rims
Tinted soft-top windows

Accessories so far, not really mods. Stubby antenna, Mopar locking gas cap and black gas door, Mopar taillight guards, Rampage grill insert - pricey but worth it as it looks great! Locking lug nuts, Mopar window storage bag, grab handles all around, Mopar slush mats front and rear, weathertech window deflectors, hitch, adventures begin here "compass" style tire cover with N pointing to Jeep, MBRP bull bar/light mount, fuzzy 8 balls hanging off the rear view mirror, and a 4 inch hula girl that shimmys and shakes as we Jeep along!

Next up: VDP Stubby bumper kit, KC driving lights, Mopar door sill covers, side view mirrors for when the doors come off in summer, and long term, 33" GY Duratracs once the stock tires are worn out, with the AEV budget boost kit.

So, when I actually get to Modding!!! I'd like a lift and some cool new wheels!! Waaaay down the line though.

Got to be honest, I spend way too much time reading posts on the forum, wife thinks we are all crazy especially after reading the jeep versus wife thread. My arctic is stock and a month old. Not quite sure yet but my first mod will be to fix the headlight situation and I really need a dead pedal. By the way I love my jeep

I was thinking if it didn't cost $100, its not a mod (this is coming from a past Harley owner) and mine is stock.

Then I realized I spent $105 on headlights, so I guess I don't qualify.

If money is not taken into consideration, I don't come close to qualifying w/a stock Jeep, mods from the lights to the hitch and everything in between including the 56 washers propping my back seat comfortable, a couple pair of $40 pucks, alarm mods, hi-lift, I can't even remember them all, take me 30 minutes of walking around it to point them all out.

Guys that go buy a couple bumpers, winch, 3" lift, wheels, tires, exhaust, etc etc for $5 or $10K, after spending nearly $40K, those are "mods".

I read the average JKU buyer makes almost $10K/month, guess spending 4 or 5 months of wages on a ride is no biggie to some folks.

Interesting post. Mine is pretty stock as well. Seat covers over my leather seats to protect them (and show off that I am a Cleveland Browns fan) :P

What I'd like to see for noobs like me: What order of precedence do you suggest to newbies for mods? What would you mod first, second, third, etc?

Thats not a garage. It looks more like a Jeep mod parts warehouse.

Mine is basically stock as well. I've done some minor things like fixing the rear seat by adding support for the middle seat and spacers to make it more comfortable, polyfill in the sub and soundbar, and the side marker/turn signal fix. None of these are really visible to others so I do not consider them true "mods".

My reasons for getting the JKU are slightly different than many of you. I needed a vehicle that I could load up with dive gear and if it got a little wet inside no big deal. While a lift and bigger tires would look cool, it would make unloading all the heavy gear more difficult. I know this may offend some, but my offroading will most likely be limited to driving to the edge of whatever lake or puddle I plan on exploring.

It is also my DD so I tend to stick to mods or fixes that add to the creature comfort or safety. Things that I am considering are headliners, grill inserts and possibly a bug deflector or plasti-dipping the front edge of the hood to prevent rock chips.

One more thing I almost forgot, a new horn to replace that wimpy underhood noise maker.

Zero Mods at this point. Our plan is to visit Moab and SouthWestern Colorado this year with our stock Rubicon.

My primary goal for this vehicle is to create my ultimate overland expedition vehicle. So my initial mods would involve ways to store more gear. I would guess a roof rack or rear tire rack mount would be my first addition. I'm also considering a TrekTop NX soft top as one of my first additions.

Future mods:
Front and Rear bumpers, including winch.
2" lift
Tires and Rims

Mine is stock and will stay stock for a while. I'm adding little comfort things slowly to it but I'm finishing up my engineering degree at the ripe ol age of 36 and the wife wants to buy a house. Ive modded many a Jeep in the past so I don't feel I have to impress anyone. So people who think they are really Jeepers just because they have a lifted Jeep and I haven't modded this one can kiss my @ss.

I spent a lot of money on my '04, so I plan to take it slow on my JK12 ... I'm not crazy about the all-black interior, so I'm thinking about replacing the fabric seats with leather, and adding some color to it. Wife would enjoy heated seats, so will likely do that too. I'll get larger tires when the OEMs are worn.

Bought my JK Sport on Dec 30, 2011. Has the Sport S wheels and air conditioning, other than that, it's as base as it gets. Still bone stock. When the stock tires need replacing, I think I'll look into something different. I'm thinking of adding a proclip to hold my phone when I'm driving. The only other mod is putting on ACE rock rails sometime in the future.

My mod money goes into my Harley and my wife's Harley.
