Bought a Mojave in July. Keeping it stock.
I have my 97' TJ that I lifted 2 1/2 inches and put 32" mud terrains on that I use on the trails (when I get time) - the Mojave sits just as high as the lifted TJ & with BFG KM1s on the mineral gray wheels looks killer.

2012 sahara, forrest green (black), picked up first week of 2012. I ordered it prior, but my jeep came in early so i was able to pick it up on leave from my tour. still in the sand box; once i get home i want to add/change:
-roof rack (i canoe / ski)
-side step bars (not replace nessisarily, but relocate. i dont think they are in a useful spot)
-grill guard/ brush guard/ cattle guard
i just recently joined this forum because i am headed back to the states soon, and have been reading a lot. this for is awesome for ideas. i am getting a better idea of what to look for, but i am still lost. id love to discuss any of the options i talked about, if you consider yourself exprienced. PM me, unless this forum requires a minimum ammount of postings before personal messages are availible. my guess is this thread is for talking, not listening

I started this thread several months ago, thought it was dead until I read the last post.

Mine no longer is mod free. Lol

Since the break in, mentioned in another thread, I replaced the SoftTop windows with a 3 piece deep tinted BesTop kit. Now I need to get the door windows tinted to match.

I also replaced the dorky spare wheel cover with the dealer's logo on it with a matching BesTop one. Have the Mopar slush mats that look like tire treads too.

I drove under a low hanging tree a couple days ago on a city street and the factory antenna got caught, whipped back and scratched the windshield frame, so that POS has got to go for a shorty black rubber one!! Lol

My 2012 JKU is mod-free!

Oh, wait, that's because it hasn't been built yet...

I already have a Quadratec catalog that I've been thumbing through and shopping wheels and a lift kit.

Aside from wheels, lift kit, and probably a front bumper and winch, it's doubtful I'll do anything else. I need it to be a reliable daily driver.

Both of mine are mod free and will end up staying that way for a long time.

Hi, I just bought my first Jeep 2012 Wrangler Sport on 4/25/12. I went with the stock becuase my husband got the Sahara Unlimited, but after only a week I had to change out the wheels. I was able to score a great deal on stock 2012 Sahara tires from eBay. With the standard 16in stock tires, she looked like she was on training wheels.

I also just ordered side steps....other than that, I was wondering if anyone has added the crome gill inserts?? They are not that expensive so I am wondering if they cheep or just don't look that good??

Talking Stock ...al least this month

Bought my JK a month ago. Due to having already been in the mud with my Jeep and my dog I have made the following advanced mods: smitty's seat covers and quadratech liners. Looks like after forum research I'll be doing the Terraflex 3" lift. Having trouble getting the new wheels (backspace questions) and tires (33s or 35s?) sorted out. Can't get any love on my stock wheels and tires (So Cal, anyone?) so I might have to wait until I get some use out of the stock ones. Also on the list is a new front bumper- although after standing on the pathetic piece of plastic excuse of a rear bumper it may come first. Seriously- I weigh 125 lbs (ish) and it crumples like A tin can. I am worried I'll be crushed in a rear end collision with a Nissan Leaf. Or a dirt bike. My last Jeep had aftermarket bumpers so I guess I never noticed the crappiness. Ah well the sun has been shining and top is down. What did I say about the bumper?

I've had my Wrangler for over a year. Only mods I've done are a Quadratec center dash bezel and a Pioneer radio. That, plus some weight reduction (-transfer case skid plate, -rock rails, -rear seat [sometimes]).

So, tell us about your completely stock JK and then, if you are armchair modding, what do you plan your first half dozen or so mods to be?

My armchair build so far:

Shorty Antenna (thought I'd done this but the one I got was wrong )
Side steps/bars (haven't decided which)
Mesh Grill Liners (not sure which yet)
Tinted SoftTop windows

Remember, mine is a city Jeep so no planned suspension mods or anything like that...yet (evil grin)
I have done zero mods. Despite this I take the Jeep (2 door JK sport) off-road about twice a week on average over a variety of terrain including soft sand, small rocks, and shallow water/mud. It doesn't get stuck and does very well. The only change necessary is to deflate the tires for sand.

The only mods which interest me are those which will increase the cargo capacity, such as a Gobi roof rack or similar, but until this time I've been able to carry everything I need for fairly long trips and camping with four adult passengers at times.

The stock Wrangler is an incredible machine off the shelf.

Huh? Most Jeeps do come stock from the dealership. And why did you have to change out the wheels on the Sahara? Factory defect or something? Why did you buy stock sahara tires off of ebay? It probably would have been cheaper to find some nice all terrains in a 16 then buying the tires that come on saharas... they are pretty much a street tire anyway. There is no way you had 16" tires.

Chrome grilles look like shit btw.

Havent modded ours yet, but then again it is still at the dealership until we get our funds in. However, we are planning and plotting at the moment, we decided to have a 2.5 lift done to it at the dealership before we pick it up, and are looking into ordering rims/tires for it, probably gonna be 17" rims and 33" tires. I would really like to have the rim/tire combo that is on the modern warfare editions.
I will be designing and fabracating my own front and rear bumpers for it as well, the front will be designed for a winch.

I just got my Sahara. other than a few interior things I'm pretty happy with it the way it is. I'm also buying a soft top so that might count as a mod I guess

Had mine since August of 2011 and has no mods. My only reason for no mods is because Im going through a divorce and paying child support for three kids. I'm just happy to be able to keep my JKU.

Zero so far, unless you count a Trektop NX as mod. I don't considering it's my only soft top. 299 miles on the Jeep as of last night.

Do Quadratec floor liners count as a mod? That is all I plan on doing. I bought a Wrangler because it will do everything I want off road stock and be a convertible. I have zero plans to take it on the Rubicon trail, Moab or mudding. It will take me to parts of Pensacola beach that will cause less capable vehicles to get stuck and to the occasional back woods fishing hole.

To each their own, have fun out there.

No mods yet in almost 4 years (not counting the Nitto Trail Grapplers that replaced the worn out BFGs) but then it is a Rubicon.....

No mods to my Jeep, and I can't afford to mod both vehicles so the 2007 Shelby GT500 gets the mods for now.
