Anybody use Mopar black rims?

A former Jeep salesman told me to get Mopar wheels/rims if I want to change out my new stock ones. So I went to the dealer, and he pulls out some other catalog of wheels and rims. Now I'm confused, as I read here most of you are buying other brands. Any advice for a newbe? Thanks.

They come stock on special editions.
Best advice.... Go aftermarket. If you plan on bigger tires-which most do- the stock backspacing is horrible. Then on to new wheels anyway or spacers.

They do look sweet though

My question is why don't any of you write about your Mopar rims? I'd think they would fit best.

Aftermarket gives you backspace options, and generally cheaper cost than Mopar. All mopar wheels will tuck in under fender, which is an appearance most jeepers don't like, myself included

Ahh, got it.

"Best fit" really doesn't come into play. Any wheel with a 5x5 bolt pattern and appropriate dimensions will fit as well as any other. The only variable I'm aware of in that regard is whether the wheel is also "hub centric." I'd expect the Mopar ones will be as are the JK wheels produced by AEV, but I don't know of any others. That said, there's simply not much significance to this--as illustrated by the huge aftermarket for wheels on Jeeps.

The aftermarket is going to offer far more selection and better prices. Further, if the black Mopar wheels you're looking at are the ones that come with the special editions this year, their backspacing is terribly high and I've heard of dealers selling them at obscene prices.

If you absolutely must have that look, you be much better off with a set of black Mamba MR-1s (these), which look basically identical to the current special edition wheels but also have appropriate backspacing to support bigger tires and won't cost a ridiculous sum of money. Of course, if you're more flexible on the look and don't necessarily need (or want) it to look "stock," then your options open up tremendously.

I have them. I like them. They came with my Jeep. Win win for me. If I were buying though, I would go with aftermarket. Manu more choices.
