Some like them, some don't.

Do you have a black hardtop now? Offer your dealer a trade. They're always looking for black hardtops.

I can fix the scratches on my Black (standard) hard top with a Sharpie. Can't do that on the fancy painted ones.

Nope. I'll stick with black. If I wanted to look like a Land Rover or Hummer, I would have bought one.

I got it and love it. If people can't tell the difference between the vehicles that's their problem.

I think it looks sharp. I am partial to the more rugged look of black.

I do like the color, but it seems the color of the top really divides the camp. Color-matched top looks nice on the vehicle. What's that option cost? A hard top for my 09 Sahara runs about 2k (in black), so I'm holding off at the moment, but I do like the top in black. It seems to contrast the vehicle body color no matter what color the body is.

also i will say, if you ever wanted to sell the top it would be MUCH harder to sell a color matched top than just a black one

Whether you like it or not it still boils down to taking it off. Color matched tops are just not user friendly on a real Jeep where you remove your top all the time. As someone mentioned earlier, if the black top gets scratched it is a easy touch up.

I could see someone with a color match top being leery of removing their top in fear of scratches which will happen. And what fun would it be to not remove your top.

I have the white on white, gotta say I don't look like every other one running down the road, some will say it breaks the "rules", but it all boils down to what you like. As far as scratches, yes it is paint and no you can't touch it up with a sharpie, but there is also paint on the rest of the vehicle, which I can't touch up with a sharpie.

The Tan same colour hardtop is mine and the Black one is my sisters. I think they both look great. TBH I wish I had gone with the Sports unlimited or the rubi for the not colour coated black fenders and black top I think it looks more rugged and suits a Jeep more. Only reason I got the Sahara was because the fiancee liked it and it was the only way she was gonna let me get a wrangler

It's just a matter of preference. It doens't make it any less of a Jeep. I do like the white on white, that's sharp with the lift and black wheels. The cream isn't bad either. I think the other colors tend to give it more of a luxury look rather than a rugged look, but that may be what some are going for.

Honestly, I should be flogged for spending $150 at the dealership yesterday to put on the OEM rear tail light covers, but whatever...it looks cool.

You can try "White Out" on the scratches.

Love your Jeep. Looks great!

I backed my police car into a post one time and took a bottle of white-out to cover the scratches so I wouldn't get written up for damaging the police car.... Sgt. never found out!

I say, go with what you like. They shouldn't stop at just black or color matched. If you want a white jeep with a blue top, or a tan jeep with a khaki top, I say go for it. If jeep is going to make them, why stop at just color matched. people love two-tone and it would be an easy way for jeep to get a $50-$100 upcharge. just my .02

Haha I've done that. Not to a police car but to company equipment.
