Anyone else have water under their rubber jeep floormats?

Picked up my jeep floormats and they had water under them, any ideas? The top is on and sealed and there is no water on top of the mats.

water under floor mats

my 2013 4 door had this issue on the passenger side. I finally traced it down to a small door seal leak that would allow droplets of water come down the door and drip right next to the mat and soak the carpet underneath. Only happened when Jeep was parked and it rained. Anyway, this was my observation for my former Jeep. Traded that for a 2014 Polar Edition which does not have a water leak issue.

Welcome to Jeep ownership! If your Jeep is under warranty, bring it back to the dealer. My dealer has a "leak specialist" that comes once a week. He does a good job of tracing and fixing them. Also you could have had ice build up in there which caused a temporary leak. Good luck.

Update: my dealer thinks it's an air conditioning problem. There hasn't been rain here in over a week and the carpet is wet again after I dried it.

Noticed the same problem in my JKU '13 but it's too cold to try and trace the leak. I though it might be ice build up melting when it's not -30, It doesn't leak when I take it through carwash.

it runs down through the floor instead of out the bottom. I can't tell you exactly where it's at I'm not entirely sure, I'm still waiting to take mine to get it fixed permanently.

There's a video on YouTube of a guy who fixes it himself, might look that up. In the meantime a towel in the floorboard works.

I've taken mine out to Tyson's to their leak specialist. Had leaks since I bought in 2013. Did you get repaired?

Bought my 2013 off the lot in oct 2012. Have had issues with leaks from day one. Water was collecting under mats. Was told it was no problem that they could find. Problem continued and they had leak specialist look and found no leaks. Was then told that I shouldn't be running my air conditioner in the summer for long periods. I was then told my drain for ac was clogged. Problem continued and they replaced door trim and surrounds. Have noticed wet floors but gave up trying with dealership. Pouring in dc today and when I got into the car, water was leaking in through both passenger door and driver. Seems to be a small "sponge" material on the top frame of each door. Anyone ever get their issue resolved?

I'm curious if your Rear Window Washer Fluid comes out OK. If not, Check behind the Left Kick Panel. The water hose might run thru there. And theres a one way valve. And is the water under the carpet or just on top. Every time I used rear washer, it was dumping water under my carpeting.

Not sure if you are asking orig. post or my reply. In either case, I've got a soft top. No rear washer. Would have been a nice solution to my problem, though!

So I've decided to take a peak under the carpet today and yes my '13 officially leaks. I think I'm gonna go carpet less just for the peace of mind after I visit the dealership of course.

It comes out great. I dried everything up and have run the ac, heat, and gone through rain several times since and haven't had anymore water. Probably won't ever know what it was.

That's what I do too. I run the carpets in the winter when it doesn't rain and insulation is nice but once it starts raining my jeep leaks a bit so I just take them out

I'm curious, you most likely have Freedom Top. Question is "How tight are the 2 tightening screws in the Roll Bar". Do you know maximum turns. Do you keep track of how tight they are. I do. Have you ever taken the tops off and inspected the rubber seal on the Main Hard Top. Either way, pinch the rubber, that compresses, and you will eventually find a inserted solid rubber insert.

I have a new 2014 Anvil Sport S auto with barely 407 total miles; haven't ever removed or opened the hard top / freedom panels. I park it nose forward on a driveway sloping up approx. 10-12 degrees tilt and so far three rain storms, when I get in there's a big 'ol puddle in the driver wheel well and water running down the inside frame just forward of the driver's side front window, as well as the front 1/4 of the DS front window. The water is in the Quadratech floor mat and in carpeting underneath.

The dealership has a 'gasket and seal guy' that comes in on Mondays and Wednesday, so I have an appt for 4/7.

Fingers crossed. I've read some pretty vitriolic stuff on the 'other' Jeep forum regarding roof leaks in new JKUs where one side says "Look, you ing Momma's Boy, suck it up and just drive your JEEP or go back to your [insert cushy foreign SUV here]..." and the other side says "it's a brand new vehicle and should not have water running down the inside when it rains with the top on."

I still LOVE the damn thing. Puts a huge grin on my face just running to 7-Eleven...

Well It's true that the majority knew about the leaking problem and still bought one. I know I did.
