Anyone every take their softop through the carwash?

Just curious. I have the trektop nx. I usually wash it by hand but wondering if anyone takes theirs through the carwash and if there's ever any problems?

Nope. I just let the rain wash my jeep for free. Sometimes it does a good job sometimes it doesn't.

If you go through Mikes, have them raise the blowers and turn off the back sprayers. I haven't had any problems.

I do once every couple months to give it a good cleaning. No issues at all, it may scratch the plastic windows a bit but so does everything else. I will say howver based on the shape of the jeep they don't do a great job.

I also have a Trektop NX on my Jeep. I just took it through a touch-less, high pressure wash last weekend. There was a tiny drip along the driver side rear window zipper and it only leaked a bit when the water was actually spraying that area. After the wash I took a look and it was barely even wet.

The blowers do sounds like a thunderstorm in the Jeep though. Bit nervous at first but now I'd do it again no problem.

I've taken it through Mikes a couple of times but both times they either did not raise the blowers or if they did raising them didn't help. The actual washing wasn't bad, I had a just a little water come in the back. But the blowers were pretty bad, I really thought it was going to damage the top; it must have pushed in 6 inches when blowers hit it.

I just use their bays now. It's like $5 for 15 minutes I can get the Jeep washed in that time.

Well its not the water to be concerned with its the hard detergents car washes use. Not recommended for vinyl soft tops. I wash mine by hand.

I wash off crud/mud/road salt in a coin-op carwash down the street from me, then do the rest at home.

In winter, especially, with all the road salt they use up here, I try to get a day or two of temps in the mid-thirties where I can spray all the salt off the undercarriage.

Yeah, it fluttered and shook pretty bad. Oddly enough, I never had any issue at highway speeds or with strong winds, so I assume it is the blowers hitting the hood directly from the top.
