I just went through 12 tanks of fuel over our 10 day vacation. 2 Adults and about 500 lbs of gear. 2011 JKU Rubicon with 35's and 2.5" lift. Off road with both lockers I got about 9 mpg (running 10 psi). Hwy I averaged about 15 mpg. I ran everything from 92 octane with 10% ethanol to 85 octane with no corn byproducts.
Once I got above 2700 rpm's she just sucked the fuel on the Hwy. Once I dump the 410's & 35's for 538's & 37's I suspect I won't want to keep track of the fuel mileage...lol
2013 JKU, auto, stock 17's, 3.73's. If I keep my foot out of it I can average 19.5 mixed city and freeway.
2013 Wrangler Sport S. Max tow, 3.73, connection package, power package, upgraded Alpine, Rough County stubby bumper mod, Rugged Ridge light bar, Ace rock sliders, Rough Country 2.5" lift, 15" MB TKO's, 33" Duratrac's, Spiderweb Shade.
I am! With sahara tires... I have a rubicon w/ 4:10's and a 4:1 rocktrak and my first 700 miles I was getting advertised 20ish, but then It started dropping to 15ish. I chalked it up to winter gas but when summer rolled around, no increase. I rotated at 5000 miles, still no go. I then bough a set of sahara rims and tires, BAM! 20.9 average on a 900 mile trip. I also realized my rubicon tires were over inflated to 45 pounds from the factory.

pfft...you guys and your penstars...i have the crappy 3.8 and on the same trip as Matador, i got about 22 mpg and i have the 4 door...o and i have the crappy 3.21 gears and a 2" lift with 35's....maybe it was because i have the manual transmission...
My average over 10k miles is 20.7, that's pretty much 50/50 city highway. Straight highway I can do much better. On a recent trip to sleeping near dunes national lakeshore I averaged 24-26 over 900 miles. I have a 13 JKU manual 3.21 stock SRAs.
New 2014 owner. 3.73, 6 speed, 2dr sport. With 16" steelies
I got 1200 miles on it now and no matter where I'm driving I barely get 18mpg.
I've even reset the evic before getting on the highway, driving at 65mpg, I barely get 18mpg! Driving arounf town? still 18mpg! All 4 tires came in inflated at 39psi. I don't drive it hard at all either.
Seems like I should be doing at least a little better on the highway.
When I got my 13 JKUR. 3.73's auto. It got amazing 19 to 20 mpg on the freeway. Then I found the TPMS button and found my tires at 47 psi. I checked them and sure enough 47. I dropped the pressure to 35. Way better ride instant drop to 17 mpg.
Only 400 miles on my 2014 JKU Sahara with 3.21 and stock tires and got 21.5 on a 3 hour mostly highway trip to New Hampshire. Not bad for the first trip. Been cruising around town and still average about 19.
