On leg # 2 of my trip, my Jeep was fighting a constant 25 mph headwind. At times felt like a giant hand holding me back. MPG was 17.5. On leg 3, averaged 19.5. Averaged 20.6 on part 4. In my case, 65 mph seems to be the magic number. Stay at 65 and the mpg will be 20+. At 70 the mpg suffers.

Stock suspension/wheels/tires on a 2012 JKUR (w/ 4.10's) and I can get 20-21 on the highway only if I keep it at 60mph. Of course once the top/doors come off I get 15-16 on the highway.

2013 JK 373 6sp HT, I get 20+ on the hiway @ 70-75 mph and average 17-18 in city driving (flatland Florida) with stock 255-17 tires. I want to do a 2.5" TF BB and some 315-17 tires but am afraid that setup will grenade the mileage Im currently getting and since its only the "look" Im after perhaps I should stay stock with my DD.

I've seen just shy of 21 (calculated) a couple of times on straight highway trips. Might even improve after a few thousand more miles, currently only at 3000.

I've hit the high teens a few times calculated. Never trust that computer. Its shown me a couple miles per gallon better every time.

Auto with 3.73's here. Regularly get 18.

I got a JKU and I'm averaging about the same.

I have the JK sport 2Dr, and I'm averaging 17 city and about 21 highway. I don't know where they pulled 19 city from. I've tried accelerating like a Geo Metro from lights and it doesn't seem to help much at all. I have far more fun driving ignoring my MPG and trying to fly and still getting 15 mpg in the process.

so I have about 2500 miles on my '13 so far and at this point I am averaging 21.4 mpg and I live in the country. Not much highway driving for me. I did take a 350 mile trip last weekend and I was getting over 22 mpg for that trip. I have to add, it's a game for me...lol I try to be very light footed and will coast when ever I can.

I track mine with Fuelly and I can tell you the computer has been off by over a MPG every time. I've only had the Jeep for a month or so but this is what I'm seeing so far (computer is consistently optimistic by .8 to 1.2 mpg). I haven't reset the mpg calculator after I initially filled up and right now it's showing 18.4 which is quite a bit above actual...

BUT, I have owned about 10 different vehicles in my life and I have never had a vehicle that got 21 MPG. I'm not sure if I've had anything get over 16 MPG

Just bought mine on 6/14/13 and have gone about 600 miles so far. I drive it to work and back approx 36 miles one way. I also cross a pretty big mountain and I have a 3" Mopar lift and I have gone from 17MPG to 19.5. Not sure what I'm doing to get that, but I must be doing it right!

If you're talking about me...I didn't say I had stock tires. I believe they are 35's. I decided to stop in there just to see what they had....and fell in love. I'm a newbie and haven't learned all the details of my jeep....yet.

2013 JK Rubicon Auto 4.10 Front Bumper/Winch. 10,000 miles. Best tank 19.7 Most of the time, I just try not to think about it. Much better than my YJ 4.0, that was maybe 12-13.

At least you guys in the States get somewhere close to the milage ratings that were on your window sticker.

Up here in Canada they have a different way of rating the gas milage.

My window sticker on our 4 door Altitude reads
22 CITY / 30 HWY

Everytime I get in the Jeep and do the milage check, it's at a pretty constant 16 MPG.

They must rate them up here coasting down the Rocky Mountians in neutral, with the engine off and with a 50 mile per hour tail wind.

Mine is a 2013 Rubicon 4:10 ratio, but is the 2 dr model, which is approx. 400 pounds lighter than yours.
I just got back from a approx 350 mile trip up in the mountains and back. That also included some in town driving. I got 20.7. My Rubicon now has 1,988 miles on it. Most of the trip, I drove about 75 MPH.
I was suprised that the mileage was that good!

My last trip home to Ohio was pretty good.

I averaged 23 mpg on the way there. Its a 330 mile trip, got there with a 1/4 tank left. I had a slightly less than full tank when I left Michigan.

On the way back I had a strong headwind. I only managed 21 mpg, but that is still good since it was A/C weather the whole trip. I still got all the way home and didn't have to stop for gas.

Now that I've been driving it to work, I'm back down to 19 mpg average, but that's some city stop and go driving.

The Jeep now has 6500 miles on it and it is getting a lot better mileage now than it did new. When I bought it, 14 mpg city and 18 highway was good.
