Anyone having a Problem with Superchips FlashPac?

Big problem with the new FlashPac. In 2014 Automatics.

After talking to Superchips for weeks. Download after download. Sending my Flashpac back to be reprogrammed by them along with my PCM.

When I got it back it trashed my transmission electroncily. At first my jeep would not start, after three "downloads" recommended by Flashpac it still did not work (that took a week) I was down and with only one vehicle to get to work with I had to borrow a ride. Had it towed to the dealer.

Five weeks latter, I just got my Jeep back from the dealer after trying to find out what happened to it. To much to list (new transmission, TCM, PCM, many tests with reflash)of what they did but in the end I would say.

I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE A SUPERCHIP PRODUCT AGAIN EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

I explained to them they can help fix the problem and I would sing there praises or not and I would trash them. You decide!

SuperChips admitted to me that they did not have a working FlashPac for a 2014 Jeep automatic. Superchips fell off the face of the earth “NO HELP” from them after the last three attempts to fix the problem. They wanted to sweep it under the rug and did. They did not care about one persons problem with there product. I felt as though I was there "Ginny Pig" in helping them advance there product at my expense when I asked them to share the cost they would not up front help me get my jeep going.

It got very difficult to deal with them and they did not fix the problem.

SHAME ON YOU SUPERCHIPS.

Huh? It works great in my 2014 Auto. When I first got it and tried it it needed to be updated and I phoned for some help, the guy wouldn't let me hang up until he could see the download was done and it was working perfect. The customer support was amazing as the call even went over their closing time by 15 minutes and he didn't rush me off the phone. Not sure what happened to yours but I'm satisfied with mine and their support.

The only issue I have had with my Superchip is the speedo adjust. I entered in all the correct info but the speedo is still off.

Weren't the both of you whose Jeeps were bricked originally beta testers? I wonder if anyone who bought after beta testing was done are having issues like this.

Also…how did they admit they didn't have a flash for the 2014 Auto…what exactly did they say.

I keep reading these threads about Superchips messing up JKs.

OP, did they pay for all the work at the dealership, since I doubt the dealer covered it under warranty?

After having all the problems I asked Superchips if they ever tested this unit on a real vehicle or was this a program simulation on there desk top?

Superchips replied that they have a 2014 Rubicon they "tested" it on but it was a standard "Stick" not an automatic.

I was not a "Beta Tester" I purchased a "working" unit .

Although I turned out to be the "Beta" in the end not knowingly.

I was very upset with Superchips after finding that most of the so called options that they advertise does not work on the 2014 even though it was advertised that it would work to do so.

The tire size only works is some categories not all like it works in 35" (I think)but not in 33.25. then why have to option as a setting to match your tire size to 33.25 knowing it wont work?

There were lots of things like that in my conversations with them.

Most of what I got was "try this" ………………. and then they would go on with the steps I need to take to see if it works. Every time it did not work.

That is not what I paid for.

I purchased a "working" unit tested and sold with the promis that it works with my 2014 Jeep as advertised. All BS!!!!!!!!!!!!

What "Options" are you using and what "Settings" work? I would like to find that out. Just how deep you got into this thing.

I was just reading up on some 'tunes' and programmers and came across a few articles about Jeeps that were bricked and things going wrong. Not good. It would have been better if they tested it more better rushing a release.

I used the 87 tune, tire settings, high beams on with fogs, and changed the radio delay time. I went into each option to see what was on or off too. I bought it because I heard great things about it on this forum, now I'm thinking was I just lucky? I made sure it was up dated and also had a battery charger on it just in case it dropped too low beyond the recommended voltage, it took about 1/2 hour to update total.

I bought the FlashPaq for my 2014 and have been waiting a week for SuperChips to send me a new file. I'm now wondering if I'm better off returning it and going with the Procal.

No it's not, and I prefer the FlashCal to the ProCal.

I'm not sure what competes with the FlashPaq out there for the 2012 up JK.

congratulations You are now the new Superchips "BETA" Tester.

They did the same thing with me 3 times and each time it got worse.

And then the three week layover at the dealer.

My flashpaq has been working flawlessly since I installed the 87 Tune on my 2012. Absolutely love the way the JK drives now (did before too but now even better! ) Maybe I just got lucky? Sorry to hear about the trouble some have had though..I'd be pretty bummed if my Jeep was bricked too.

So why are you waiting for a new file? I just updated mine and it worked fine, there was a slight issue updating it as it said it was updated but it actually wasn't. I updated it 3 times and then it worked fine. I feel I got real lucky or you guys are having crappy luck?

2013 auto. No problems other than having to put in 33.00 for my 34s. Also ran 87 octane tune.

I had to enter 30.75" for my 31.5" (285/70/17) Duratracs. Other than that, no problems with my 2012 automatic on the 87 tune.

I updated the tuner with my computer and when I went to connect it to the Jeep it said "no calibration file available" and to contact Superchips. When I got on the phone with them they verified my tuner had the latest update and had me hook the Flashpaq back up to the computer. They pulled some information off it and said they would send me an updated file once the engineers fixed it.

I am happy that some of the Superchip users were able to download and install a working program. After several tries. Some more and some not at all.

But it look to me that its 50-50% on whether or not it will work on any jeep.

I don’t think that after what I have been through with it I would want anyone to go through that.

Just be careful.

Is there anyone else out there with a programmer that will work?

Only other tuners I know of is Bullydog (read more bad than good) and Diablosport. Not sure if either of them are ready for the 2014's though.

Are you shure it is really working?

How do you know?

Have you checked you speed with your phone GPS to see if it calibrated the pinion?

Do you see or have you notices a mark difference in gas milage? Or is it a seat of the pants thing you can feel?

Have you or anyone that has installed this program run a dyno to see if the readings are any different as advertised?

I am just wondering. After talking to Superchips as much as I did and finding out that some of the advertised features dont work on the 2014 I am starting to think what else doesent work.

By the way the problems are only in the new transmission 2013-2014. The older 2012 and down are OK. So I am told. I just saw you have a 2012. Much different transmission.

Yeah, I used 2 different apps on my iPhone that utilize GPS. My Duratracs, mounted on the vehicle and running 30 psi measure at 31.5". But using that measurement in the Flashpaq, I was off by 2-3 MPH, if I recall correctly. I kept reducing tire size by 1/4" increments until I got down to 30.75". At this size, my speedometer and my phone both read exactly 60 MPH.

I was waiting for warmer weather to get out there and do mine, but now reading some of these I might wait a little longer to make sure all kinks are worked out.
