Anyone Own a Right Hand Drive Jeep?

Just bought our 2nd RHD Jeep. The rural carrier wife need one for her route. Bought a 2011 Wrangler unlimited in Saraha Tan. Nice Jeep. Traded a 08 Wrangle RHD. Any other owners out there?

Yes, I have a '93 wrangler, mind you I live in Scotland. So everything is rhd.
I used to have a '89 wrangler islander and it was lhd 4.2 auto and i never had any problems on the roads with the wheel being on the left. it's great.

Two Assie's, One From Texas, One from Scotland, and one from Japan. 2 COOL!!! But Ours is odd because we drive in the left seat normally. We get the RHD to use as mail delivery jeeps. Anyone Else Here from North America?

I live about 170 miles from the plant. We have not had any adverse affects except the energy conservation, not mandatory but it is amazing how many comply to help our with limited electricity. Things are back to normal except for that. It will take a very long time to recover from the disasters. Yes, most of the news agencies have stopped covering it, but here it is still something to contend with. Thanks for asking!!

Looks good. Is that dark green? Cant really tell on the lappy screen. Also notice you get the same fat lip front bumper we do - that was one of the first things to go

Yes, that is Natural Green Pearl Coat. It looks very dark or even black depending on how the sun hits it. I hate those bumpers too! Both the front and rear will have to go. I plan to get a winch some day so that will be a factor in the selection. I also hate the relocation of the rear tag, this too will go back to the original location. I also plan on a 2.5 inch lift with 33's, but since I register this on base here compliance will be a big deal. In my Jimny, I had to remove the shackle lift every 2 years to pass inspection. That was a pain in the a**.

Yeah, my rear plate was in the same postion but had to relocate to the left of the bumper to fit the towbar. Cant move mine to the original position under the left tail light, as ours are too wide and would stick out past the side of the vehicle, plus the spare tire blocks the view of it too much. Our regs are the plate must be visible from 45 degrees left and right.

Rear bar though is the next thing on the agenda for me, already have some pretty good scoring on the bottom corners from dropping over rock ledges!!

ONEBADRC,
Do you have a tray in place of the left seat or did you leave the seat in place? I had an aluminum tray built at a fab shop. I measured and made the legs out of 1/4 x 2 flat bar. It transfered from the 08' to the '11 easily. I took the left seat I that I removed to the auto parts store and wrapped it with the shrink wrap plastic they use on their shipping palats. It keeps the seat looking brand new for later when you trade or sell it. I also did this to the rear seat as we removed it from the 08' but left the rear seat in the 2011..

I bought mine used from a retired carrier and her husband had made this simple wood platform. It holds three 2 foot trays per layer easily. I have had 12 trays stacked there. The front bottom tray gets cramped by the pocket on the door so I just leave a little room in that so it can squish. Yeah that's the soft plastic trays. I put the seat back in most weekends. It takes about 5 minutes to make the switch because the platform just lays on the floor.

I believe you will be happy with it as you can lay the back seats down and you have a ton of room to put your parcels. Where are you located?

I've got an 08 rhd I'm a rural carrier in nc. I hate it... I bought it new had many electrical problems, the gas filler problem, esp problems but hopefully their worked out now at 56k! I'm getting ready to buy a new unlimited. Does anyone have 1 with the 3.8 and a new 1 with the 3.6? I'm wondering the mpg difference on the route. If its not much ill just buy a leftover 11.... The 3.6 still doesn't have enough power so its all about mpg now!

Just curious sunroof71, but how much power are you looking for and why? Is it the weight of the parcels/mail? What about getting a 2012 ordered with different gears?

I'm just curious, that's all.

I guess it doesn't really need a lot more power on the route but this will be a family hauler too... I'm just used to my 4.0 and the 3.8 in my 08 just doesn't cut it for highway.... I really was only curious if the gas mileage is better in the 12? BTW how do I start a new thread...?

Ah I get ya. Well as for gas milage, a friend has a new 2011 with 1800km. Manual jk sport. I have a 2012 with 2400km on it. Manual JKU arctic. Me and him both filled up full on Saturday and went out. We followed each either and took as close to the exact same route as possible. Kept our speeds the same etc. we went out about 3-3.5 hrs. Some trails off road some hwy to get there. A good mix. At the end of it all, he burnt a 1/2 tank. I burnt just over a 1/4.

I have heard they have different tank sizes but don't know. Chrysler claims about 5-10% better milage. Anyways I like the extra power too.

As for a new thread, when you are looking at all the threads, at the very top on the left there should be a button that says New Thread. Click there.

I have a 2012 and it will REALLY MOVE with 285 hp. It is the 6 speed manual with 3.21 gears. I'm getting about 19 in town and 24 on the hwy. I've had it up to 80 on the hwy, and it will jump from 65 to 80 in the blink of an eye without downshifting.
