Anyone painted their factory fenders?

I have a white 4 door JKU and wanted to know if it was possible to paint the factory black fenders white to match the body color. Has anyone done painted their fenders to match their jeep's color? Suggestions/tips and pics would be great.

If your talking the black plastic stock ones I would avoid it. You are going to have a really hard time finding a primer or paint that is going to stick and give you a quality finish..

They could be painted with decent results if you prep properly, but would still have a textured finish. I'd try to get a set from a white sahara.

grnd93 has the best idea.

The trouble with painting them is that they flex. If you don't have the right paint & prep products, you'll end up with a hot mess on your hands. Otherwise you could prolly take them to a body shop and have them done for good looking, lasting results but they will still have that texture and it may look a bit peculiar.
06 Rubi with some sort of double ended, chrome knobbed, cross threaded, infinitely adjustable, frequently breakable, worn out flammywhammers zip tied onto it.
It used to be a jeep thing... til that sh!t broke!

I prefer the black fenders personally.....however my Sahara came with the obligatory body-colored ones (green). If it didn't have all the other stuff I wanted that feature alone would have led me to making a different purchase. Oh well.
