anyone running 35s on stock Rubi Wheels?

I have been searching all morning and have read pros and cons but not from anyone that is actually doing it. Would love to see pics. I know it is less than ideal but thinking it should still work on the 7.5 rim. Was thinking Goodyear Duratrac 315/70. Sell my Rubi tires day 1. Basically drive the thing home and install a 2.5 spacer lift to start. Just cant do stock

I would like to do the same thing. I like the stock 10A wheels. I am looking for a machine shop that can widen them so I can run 35' w/o spacers.

that would be quite the surgery and I can't imagine cost effective. It's not just rim width it's backspacing which means they would have to basically cut out the center portion and reposition it in a new hoop with a different backspace. That has got to be cost prohibitive. you could probably get 3 sets of rims for what that would cost.

No problem for OMF in Riverside CA. They widened mine to 8" when they were bead locked. They can do pretty much anything with a wheel.

It wasn't the width I was commenting on but the offset that's the major issue. I don't doubt for one minute they can easily cut a rim like a hamburger bun, add material and run to beads around the rim. With some nice finish work and really good attention to detail sure it's possible. This still would require spacers... maybe even larger spacers then would have been needed for 7.5" rims.

I have a 2013 Rubi with 2.5 AEV lift and geometry correcting brackets with 315/70/17 duratracs on stock rubi wheels. I love the look, the way it handles and everything about it.
Trim the pinch seams and add 1.5" spacers and you are good to go.

how much wind noise do you get with the rack? I am thinking of going with a Gobi or Garvin rack but have never been in a jeep with one on.
How bad is it with the top off?

Not much wind noise at all. It has the wind deflector which helps a bunch. If I am in a stiff headwind it can make a little noise, but probably is noisy even without it. Noise is the main reason I went with the Gobi. All I read said it was the quietest.
