anyone using ACE rock rails?

I bought a set of ACE rock rails and its time to install them. Is anyone else using them that might have some installation tips? If you have any tips that will keep me from busting my knuckles and throwing my tools, please tell!

Count to ten... That will probably just help keep you from throwing tools though.

Fazed has a set, I ordered mine, but they and the jeep they are going to be installed in have not been delivered yet!!!

I heard a tip from one guy about balancing it on his knees and just getting the bolts started in the holes by hand, then tightening them with a socket.

good luck! I cant wait to put mine on!

I just put mine on today by myself.
What I did was take the box they came in and layed it on it's side and rested the bars on it while lifting one corner to start bolt by hand. The box raised it just enough to be able to get the bolt started with no problem. I did the front, then back and middle and tightened in stages to keep things even.
Worked great!

The "box" is really tight so I had to do two (2) sides to fit the washer in the box, only doing one side would not go in.

I had a little trouble at first getting the bolts to line up. Make sure to grind the washers enough so they sit flat, and start all the bolts loosely on each side before you tighten. Screw in each bolt just enough to hold (a few turns)...then one they are all started tighten them all.

No drilling, they mount with your stock body mount bolts. Only mods is grinding the sides of the washer so it can fit inside the rail mount and allow it to be mounted.

Not 100% sure, it looked as though getting the body washers off the bolts would be mote trouble than just grinding them down.
