Anyone using the Rugged Ridge Chrome Headlight Inserts?

I just ordered this and received them but didnt realize that they are kept on with adhesive. (I thought that they "popped in")

Im debating returning them as I am not exactly crazy about using adhesive to install them, BUT they do look really good on (test fitting).

I am just curious if anyone else has these installed and/or if they are having any issues with them?

Is it the 3M automotive adhesive? If it is I wouldn't be worried about it. If you clean and prep your surface with alcohol and seat it correctly, you shouldn't have any issues. It held numerous stainless accessories on my old pickup without any issues whatsoever. Good luck!

I have yet to meet someone who has been happy with any stick on exterior chrome hardware. From what I hear it lasts about 9 months before dulling or falling off. I would use anything with stick on goo on the exterior...IMHO

3M Emblem tape lasts a tad longer than 9 months... If the stickies that came with the kit have bright red backing with a 3M logo on it, then it'll likely last a few days shy of forever as long as you prep it right. If they got cheapo tape, you can buy 3M emblem tape by the roll at an auto parts store.

Got pics?

dont use 3 m tape if you ever want to take them off, you will likely tear the jeep in half first

I had all my exterior stuff on my pickup for three years and never had anything even start to peel. I hung a soap dispenser on the wall in our shop with it, and had to literally use a big prybar to get the dispenser off the wall. It had 3 strips of 3M tape about 8 inches long. I would have expected it to last until the end of time on its own.
