Okay, so heres the story.
2012 Arctic
Build date of 12/7/11
Purchase date of 2/8/12 (Had 11 miles ont he odometer)

14,000 miles - new clutch and resurfaced flywheel
15,000 miles - new trasnfercase cable retaining clip
16,000 miles - New seals, collar, and bearings replaced in rear axle
18,500 miles - MIL appears, when read stated "Permenant misfire cylinder #4 detected.

I had it at the dealershipm and they said that the infamous ticking problem and needing new heads and valve guides was a common problem. I won't explain that because I'm sure you all know about it in some way . ANYways, The service representative had told me that they hooked the computer up to the jeep and saw the MIL history of misfire in the #4 cylinder but it was not actually occuring for them (TYPICAL ) However, there was a TSB put out by chrysler for a flash update to be done (updating the computer unit in the jeep). They did this and said it would fix the problem because it changes the timing in the motor..

WELLLLLLLLL not even 1,000 miles after the "fix" (currently at 19,350 miles) my MIL came back on. Had Advanced Auto read the code and sure enough..."Permenant misfire Cylinder #4" is what it said.

So, the jeep gets dropped off at the dealership tomorrow at noon. This si the 5th....count it....ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE times since Feburay 8th...this will make the second time for the ticking/head/FML situation.

My suggestion...run your VIN by your dealer and see what they have to say...

I'll let you know this outcome!

That stinks. Sorry man and I hope they fix it for you this time!
I'm also hoping that if mine does develop the tick, it does it soon so that I can just get it over with. Only 2,000 miles on mine as of yesterday.

On an unrelated side note, I just ordered a 1.75" spacer lift kit. I'll be sure to let you all know how it turns out. I've never done any suspension work before so I'm a little nervous, but the install sounds pretty straight forward from what I've read.

Like i said ill keep my fellow yetis informed of the outcome. Im going to flat out tell them to open a STAR case.and replace he current heads with AD heads

I never changed oil until my arctic...a month later i did a 2" suspension lift. Only had help with bleeding the brakes. So if i can do it you'll be fine. Just be SAFE and go SLOW.

It does seem that way...it anger me. Are any other arctics having issues????

I can't claim lemon unless its in the shop not driveable for 30 days or longer OR they fail at fixing the same issue three times....this will be the second try to fix the misfire issue...so gettin kinda close

It would anger the p*ss out of me, too. So, there's no provision in the Lemon Law for multipule issues within a certain time frame? You can continue to have different issue after different issue but it's not a lemon unless it just the one recurring issue?

No. It states that on the DOT website that the dealer has to fix the same defect within 4 tries or the vehicle has have a defect keeping in the shop for 30 days or longer. It does not have anything saying about multiple issues. Lol

But it does say that the same issue being fixed within 4 tries or vehicle being in the shop for 30 days or longer has to occur on parts that under warranty and within the first year purchase of a brand new vehicle

Saw my first artic blue in the wild today. So if the owner of a jku artic on grand river in Howell Mi noticed the pedestrian with a big goofy grin on his face as you drove past..... that was me.

Despite my begging, the family only came through with a Jeep seat towel. Which is nice...I wanted that for summertime topless driving...but, seriously, I don't need any more pajama's, I want Jeep stuff .

I'm in a holding pattern right now hoping for some JCR bumpers to go on sale again as they start making newer versions (hopefully). Pissed I missed out on their Black Friday sale...just couldn't spend the money on myself at that time of year.

Edit: While in my holding pattern, got seriously distracted yesterday by a dude selling his Argent Pintler's for $750...wasn't thinking of getting wheels until a little later but, hmmmm...decisions, decisions.

I would totally have rocked some Jeep Pj's...unfortunately, the ones I got had puppy dogs on them because aparently my mom thinks I'm still a child . She's only partly right.

Here's my update: added MBRP light bar and stubby bumper end caps. I found that the bfg mud tires performed poorly on ice so I found a set of four wheels on Craigslist for $100. Put some Firestone Winterforce tires on.
