Can one of you Arctic owners with a white hard top please tell me what it is that makes it white? We have a white Sport on order, coming with a black top. We want to change it to all white, and don't know if that's the same paint on the top as on the body. There are no Arctic edition JKs for me to examine in person here on this little island we live on.

It's the same paint as the body. Just use the paint code from ur jeep and have a body shop paint to match

He is probably going to use his garage to paint it. If I had the experience I would do it myself.

Yes, the watch was on eBay. Got it for 99 cents, plus $15 to ship from Hong Kong.

I should have explained that I live on a little 2x13 mile island between the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic.

A 'body shop' here could be anything you can imagine using either one of those words. What it definitely won't be is the same thing as a good auto body shop in Michigan.

I have a nice big garage, and a good compressor setup. I'll just have to learn how to paint autos the same way I learned the basics of arc welding, modern outboard motor repair, fiberglass, diesel repair, electrical and plumbing, sailmaking, masonry, insect control....

I usually can't hire competent people for most of these things. So I read what I can find, scour the internet for info, and ask a lot of questions on forums. Like this one. I get the tools and materials I need and then wade in. Then I often screw it up the first time but almost always get it right by the second time.

I've been part of two Land Rover forums over the past six years, and those guys have been fantastic as a source of information and support. I'm going to miss their advice and the language I had to learn to talk to suppliers in the UK about Land Rovers. You know, the whole Bonnet, boot, brake pipe, propshaft, wing, eyebrow arches thing. Oh, it goes much deeper than just metric spanners and mole grips.

Kind of hoping to find the same community here. I've always wanted to build a tricked out Jeep CJ/Wrangler. And now we're starting with a brand new one.

The paint code for the white is PW7. You should be able to order it wherever you normally get vehicle paint, I would think. I don't know a thing about painting a black hard top though...maybe post that question in the JK section of the forum and see if anyone has done it.

P.S. You live on a small island somewhere between the Bahamas and Dominican Republic? Damn, son, you're living my dream, lol.

Thanks. We got to see a white JKU with a black hard top yesterday. I see what people here have been telling me about the texture on the black HT. Not sure what that will look like with the acrylilc laquer or whatever that paint is. Guess I'll have to give it a try. We REALLY like the all white with black trim look of those Arctics. Think it will look especially cool here on a tropical island. White makes scientific sense, too. Or silver.

Hey Cosmic C it took years to work this island living thing out, but we're here to tell you that it can be done.

There were actually 2 that looked the same but one had the black fenders instead of the blue. I got the blue....removable hardtop, looks really cool. Authentic except for the white letter tires which can be corrected with a sharpie!

The seller I used was "my3grandsons" and had super fast shipping. Good transaction.
