A thread for jeepers to discuss their arctic edition rigs and what they do to them.

I don't have one of my own, but I just wanted to tell you all how much I LOVE your winter chill arctics! :thumb:

I wonder who I'd have to strangle to get one now. :D

Oh, no! :nonono:

I think all the black just MAKES the winter chill! I wouldn't change a thing, hex!

I figured I would post what has been done to my Arctic over the past year along with before and after pictures. I actually have more research into each item than the time it took to get them installed as I wanted to do everything right the first time. The lift is the AEV 2.5 inch dual sport, Warn bumpers and Rubi Rails behind Ace rock sliders. Tires are 35" Toyo's. Picked up a new soft top off of Craigslist for $500 as well. The only thing remaining is to decide on what gears I want, thinking 4.11 or 4.56, just not sure yet............... also need to do something with the sound system at some point. My wife wanted the Arctic so she got it, now it has turned into my toy whenever I can get here out of it...........

Bumpers are the Warn Elite front and rear, I went with a budget winch, Quadratec 9500 I series because I expect it to have little use and did not see any reason to drop $1k on a Warn, I will eventually put synthetic line on it though. I built this mostly to use while hunting in West Texas and Colorado and not as a major rock crawler although it is capable to get over, through and around any obstacles that get in the way. May add some lights at some point but so far have not really needed them, everything has a function and it is not about how much stuff I can add to it.

Thanks for the kudo's..............

I've heard that there is a polar edition coming out in 2014. Wonder what it will be? I was under the impression that the arctics didn't sell well (primarily because they were expensive! Most people seem to like them but think they were overpriced). My guess is that the polar will be an arctic with a lower package price).

In this area Arctics were very hard to find and they sold out as soon as they arrived. We had to get ours shipped in from another dealer. Technically it is my wife's Jeep and she only wanted the winter chill color so it took some work to find it for her. Personally I did not consider it over priced with the options it has, plus they were limited production so Jeep was only making a certain number of them, once gone that was all that would be built. I am hoping they do not bring back the winter chill color or it will be like every other Jeep, the compliments we get on it is amazing.

Finally getting to actually posting on the site. I love looking at the mods to the Arctics. I have not done much underneath with the exception to sway bar disconnects, throttle body spacer, and steering stabilizer relocation.

Chopped up the bumper for the stubby look and switched out the signal lights with white. Then, after seeing the 10A rubi...I have been on the plan of stealing some of their ideas. Now trying to figure out the right color orange to paint the tow hooks.

I just bought a certified pre owned white Arctic JKU. Couldn't be happier!

Tires right now are pretty good but I want to make some changes when they wear down. Only issue is my parking garage at work only has a clearance on 6 ft 5 in, so don't want to go too big. I'm thinking of a leveling kit and 33s.

Does anyone have pictures of this combo? (Please post with description). Also I'd like to keep the stock rims. Will I have any issues or do I need spacers with 33s?

I think a lot of this depends on your geographic location. In jersey its difficult to get manuals, they are tons of autos. I actually didn't even set out looking for an arctic, I walked into the dealer and said I want a white 6spd. He said he only has one but its an arctic. I had no idea what that was but I instantly fell in love.
