are the 2012 mirrors the same?

I did the mirror drain mod and didn't get any water coming out of the holes I drilled. When I had my 07 it worked like a charm.

I planned on drilling my mirror mounts as soon as my 2012 was delivered after reading all the threads about it. But then my son drilled the mounts on his 2010 JKU right after washing it, and no water at all came out.

I checked my 2012 and found that the tiny weep-holes at the bottom of each mount seem to be open. I can stick a fine broom-corn up in it freely. I got the impression that something was closing off this weep-hole, and that's why drilling worked.

I now plan on waiting at least well into our wet winter and periodically check/clean the weep-holes and see if I have a problem.

I hear from sources that the 2012 mirrors when you look in them make you look like Gods gift to women or if you are female the ultimate mate.

when I washed it I was still getting the slow drips at the base but nothing through my drill holes.

LOL, thanks Chucky. I did notice that when I first picked her up from the dealer.

That explains the mobs of young women that chase me down the street whenever I go to town in the Jeep! Good thing that new pentastar engine has such great acceleration!

That suggests the weep-holes are working. But, they are so small, I wouldn't be surprised if they easily plug up. Maybe periodically cleaning them out is all that is needed.....
