Are you getting Amp'd over Amp'd color?

So, in a couple days Amp'd yellow will be available....
Any day now...
Waiting impatiently...
I'm going to stop by the dealer and bug them again Wednesday morning. So, I've seen a couple shots of the color online; however, the pics available don't show the full pic. When the new colors are available to order, does the dealer/internet explode with full body shots or videos? Anyone in the San Antonio/Austin area... If you happen to see an Amp'd addition would you post the dealer please. I'd really like to see one in person before I order.

The Huffines dealership in my area had all of the colors on display when I placed my order last week. Amp'd looked like exactly like yellow mustard...no joking (I was hoping for better). Consequently, I went with Anvil. The salesman I was working with agreed that it was fairly yucky looking. I'm hoping for them that it looks better on an actual vehicle.

By the way, Granite Crystal will be a late arrival in '14, so be prepared for a wait if that's what anyone is wanting.

Amp'd is #1 on my list, bumping off Anvil.

I found this pic somewhere, that is suppose to be a Rubicon X in Amp'd (my apologies if its anyone's pic, I honestly can't remember where I got it anymore).
I fell in love with that jeep when i first saw it!

This color is so unique and i really like it. No doubt you will stand out. I think with black fenders and top it will set the color off even more. I think this color would be ugly on anything but a wrangler, and thats why I love them! The craziest color you can imagine and a wrangler will probably look great with it.

Well i know that for me Dune always looks darker in photos on my computer than it does in person. My hope is that amp'd will be lighter in person with a more mustard yellow look. Then in the sun/bright light it will look more yellow. We shall see.

If you go to Jeep's website, there's a download for the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Booklet. There are a couple small unlabeled pics of the Amp'd? It should be called Lemon Crush. I'm going to call some dealers this afternoon. I need to see one live. Last week I spoke to a few dealers who were oblivious of the new colors.

I think they are, but unfortunately, for those particular pics, Jeep doesn't bother to disclose the color like on most of the other pics.

In the color chip/samples in that booklet, Amp'd actually looks more like a metallic Dune.

I called one dealership and stopped by another today. It's surprising how little some salespeople know about their product. One salesperson looked on Jeep's website and told me the color amp'd didn't exist. When I told her another dealership was willing to take my order, a friendly sales manager arrived almost instantly. There must be high-tech surveillance inside the dealership. Unfortunately, the only pic they had was a thumbnail sized close up.
Has Jeep always been so secretive about new colors?

My concern is that these aren't going to be very common, and I want to see one (either in person, or some good sun/shade/clouds pics) to decide. Unfortunately in my neck of the woods most dealers tend to order conservatively (black is the most common, then billet, white, anvil with a few red and white, and a rare dune). I'm sure some dealer will order an Amp'd eventually, but it could be a long wait, or I may just have to go with copperhead or red.

How bad could it possibly be? Its not like it will turn to fluorescent pink under some street lights.

Or worse, look black. :puke:

Its a shade of gold. If you don't like any gold colors, or have even slight reservations, then it might not be the best choice for you.

People can come up with insulting or derogatory references to any color. And do so, very often here in WF.

Honestly, IMHO, ordering amp'd would be just as risky as ordering copperhead, at this point.

I do like some gold colors, others I don't. It is a risk unless I see it. I feel the same way (even perhaps more so) about copperhead. I owned a copper colored car previously, but the current Jeep shade is not my favorite (at least as I have seen on RAM trunks). It looks bang on in the bright sunlight, but not so great (to my eyes) in the overcast (which is the typical weather in Oregon). I do agree that either color is a risk, but either color could really work on a Wrangler, or not. I also think both colors will be polarizing (though copperhead probably less so, since it is on a number of other Chrysler products, and a somewhat common general paint color these days).

See if it's available on a different model. My wife and I had the same feeling about Copperhead. We were really gun shy about buying one without seeing the color in person. Then I noticed a Ram on the lot in Copperhead so we were able to see it in person. It's like Mango Tango, bit "more betterer!" We place our order Wednesday.

I do understand the need to see it in person. I have certainly done the same myself before ordering a new vehicle. Sometimes what the manufacturer calls "red" really looks a lot more like orange, and "dark grey" looks more like brown (examples from my own buying past).

Just to make it worse, Jeep's own webpage isn't much help. I have a color calibrated monitor, and on Jeep's website, Anvil looks like a baby blue (a light blue) without a hint of gray. We know that isn't true. Anvil has a strong gray tone, and looks more like a blue-ish gray to most people. If someone ordered Anvil expecting the baby blue color on the website, they would indeed be disappointed.

Hey All, I am a sales manager at a Jeep Store in CO and ordering for Copperhead and Amp'd is available as of this morning. Also we can order the "X Package", which the internal code is 24J for automatic and 23J for Manual.

There is also a new "Dragon" package in the Sahara available. (24D for auto, 23D for manual). I don't know what this looks like, but it appears to have bronze accents and a hard spare cover, black leather only. I don't have pics yet or a full description but I will update when/if I do.

Stopped at the dealership today to check out Copperhead and Granite as possible colors for my wife's JK - doesn't like either of those. Strike 1.

Hydro Blue would've been a possibility on the FE, but you can't get navigation on the radio (430 is available, but not 430N; what's up with that?). Strike 2.

Dealer has a couple Amp'd on order. They will call me when one shows up on the lot (probably later in October), so we're gonna wait to see how those look in person.

So, I emailed Jeep to see if they had any official photos of Amp'd. No luck. I did get my welcome package from Tread Lightly (I ordered on Thursday) today. I typed in my info online and got my Affiliates Voucher. I guess the 30 day wait is not nessessary. Regardless,

"Dear Nate,
We do not have any pictures to provide of the 2014 Jeep Wrangler and
Wrangler Unlimited in the exterior paint color "Amp'd". Your preferred
Jeep dealer does have a color chart available to them containing the
color Amp'd.

Our best suggestion would be for you to keep in contact with your
preferred Jeep dealership as the ordering system changes on a frequent
basis."
