At what temp does the top go back on?

I was looking forward to taking the top down and doors off for this Memorial Day weekend. Well I get up early Saturday to go through the process for the 2nd time ever. When I check the weather they were calling for a heat index of 112F. After a few minutes of driving the temp gauge said this.
temp.105f.pdf

The top stayed on and I cranked the AC. What is your temperature trigger, either hot or cold?

Mine said 97 today, I wasn't about to burn as I was driving. Tops stayed on and the A.C. went all the way up. The humidity here in Jerz is absolutely horrid.

It depends on how I'm driving. If i'm going to be in bumper-to-bumper, not moving an inch, no airflow traffic... top up, AC keeping my bum cool. If I'm sitting in that traffic, it's likely a work day, and I'm not willing to have sweat stains at 8:30am.

Now, if I'm gonna be able to cruise down the highway and keep a constant breeze, I'll probably keep the top down no matter the temp.

I am good to about 94║-95║. After that I think I'll seal it up but, up till then I am good with the sides off and top up. it also depends on what I am going to be doing. I don't mind the sun and hot is OK if I am just cruising. Scorching is not good at any time! But again, it all depends.

Depends on the humidity but around 90 degrees and the top is back on for me.

Probably 120 deg in the dead of AZ summer. Honestly probbably before 115* etc...

IDK what heat index is, in AZ when they call for 120* the actual ambient temp is 120*...

Coming back from Ocean City, MD this weekend, it was 96 degrees and bumper-to-bumper traffic. Stopped about halfway to put the Freedom panels back in and CRANK the AC...

I will drive with hardtop off regardless of temp, its the rain I have issue with. If you put a safari top on the sun is not a factor. I'm in south Texas it's hot and windy. The wind helps, but if it gets too much just point the a/c in your face. This is the way I roll!

I (begrudgingly) put my top on last weekend. It's been in the upper 90's with high humidity and chances of afternoon storms. :-(

I put the top back up when it looks like we're going to possibly get rain..... or a dust storm b/c I'm lazy with vacuuming.

Otherwise, it's down during the summer. And in Tucson, AZ 115 degrees is a normal summer day for us. That A/C works pretty good even with the top down.

Me personally? 80+ and the top is on. I only drop/remove the top in my convertibles from 0-70 degrees. Above 80 and it gets hot and nasty, so the top goes up and the AC goes on. I hate heat, and roll around with my top down in December. Unlike 99% of this board, and any board, my top is on permanently in the summer, and off/down during the rest of the year.

It was 100 over the weekend. Top down, doors off and hat on. Wouldn't have it any other way. To be honest, I don't know if I have ever use my AC in my Jeep in the 2 years I've owned it.

If it is too hot to take the Jeep I don't go...same if it is too cold...but than Blu goes if we need protection from the elements or it is a "social function" where appearances matter.
Blu's top is sun rider...only been off once so far...maybe this weekend...mini vaca in MI!

That is the nice thing about having 2 one is always ready!!

It was 97 and humid over the weekend and I had the top off. It's not going back on unless it rains.

All I care about is heavy rain, not temp. Spiderweb keeps me cool and shaded.
Dig it.

If i am driving really slow or in stop-n-go traffic I run the AC with the top off. It works quite well and will put a smile on your face (as well as a blast of cold air). Indulgent, hell yes but that's why I live in America. One of life's little luxuries like riding with the top off in the fall/winter with the heat on.

+1

I put the top on if the temperature is below 35-40 degrees... and like FAS550 I turn the AC on when it's super hot out, but keep the bikini top on to give me a little shade (It still feels like a furnace though, haha).

Doors on the other hand... as long as there isn't rain in the forecast for a couple days they're off.

I thought this was an odd time of year for this thread. I never realized that people put the top back up when it got hot.
