Automatic locks and windows on jk?

Hello,

I am a brand new Jeep owner, I got a used 2007 Unlimited 40 door last week. I am excited to get into making mods and upgrades to it, but it will be the first vehicle I've ever done so to.

I have seen some kits for automatic windows and doors on various sites online, I was wondering if anybody has any experience with these as far as which ones are the easiest (or possible) to install, how long it takes, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to WF

While you are in the correct section, I'm going to push this thread over to the JK forum to get more "eyes" on it.

Don't know too much about them. I have seen them in a magazine before and I believe the switches mount to the doors instead of on the center dash cluster. Could be some cons to this, and I don't know what kind of wiring nightmare it may be. I am sure others will chime in.

Added power windows to my 2012. (Soft top so what's the point in power locks?). Look here- though the site stinks. You might need to call for your specific kit.
Electric Life
Its NOT an easy install. Pulling the doors/window apart isn't easy- part dump Jeep design part bad directions. As a result the hubster would rate it a 7 or 8 out of 10 on difficulty. I'd rate him a 9 of 10 on the handy scale.
That said- they work great and everything we needed came with the kit. We bought an OEM switch from Mopar online vs. using the switch that came with the kit. Looks totally stock.

Is there any relevant write ups on the matter that you know of? Thanks for the info!

Not that I know of- and I looked. I'd planned to do a write up but never got around to it-now my memory is fuzzy. The pics in the directions were in black and white and therefore hard to see. That made figuring out how to take things apart tough. Plus finding the wiring diagram for the Jeep itself- but its easier to find now. If you can't find it here- look on JK Forum. (gasp!).
