Auxiliary lighting

I want to put some extra lighting on my JK. On my old Jeep I has some Hella off road lights that I had to have sheilds on while on the road because I wasn't allowed to use them, too bright? Anyway, I want to mount some lights up by the windsheild and two on a light bar. I have fog lights stock on the JK. What "type" should I mount. I was thinking driving lamps on the light bar down by the bumper and long rang lights on brackets up by the sheild. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I wanted to be able to at least run the driving lights on the road and the long range lamps off road. Should I do all four driving lamps? Too much?

Check your local laws. Most places you can’t run any type of auxiliary lighting on the roads. I would suggest LED, Rigid Industries Dually D2. They draw less power than a halogen or HID and are bright as hell in a small package. I would suggest driving beam on the windshield brackets and flood beam on the bumper.

x2. and if you're looking for a little less pricey option like I was, there are also the regular duallys (not the d2's) for around 200 bucks less for a pair. and they are still extremely gratifying

Yeh rigid light bars are sick but pricy. I personally like piaas. Because icant afford the light bars i want.

Long range beams are the best pick for your winshield mounts as driving beams will cast too much glare off of your hood. As noted, check your state laws as every state is different as to what can and can't be run on the road. I run long range beams on my bull bar and the winshield mounts.

I went with the Warn W650D, wireless controller. I like the idea of the Rigid Duallys, just like the look of the Warns better.

How do you like those lights? I'm all about convenience and those seem like it, but I can't imagine it's entirely wireless.

I like the KC 130 watt on my windshield and Rigid LED yellow fogs on my bumper work for me. So I have long range off road lights and yellow fog lights for the rain, smoke and dust.

Most states only allow four lights to be active while on the road in the front as most cars have headlights and fogs.
I have HiDs as headlights and visionX as fogs between these two lighting systems there is more than enough light to go off road. VisionX's have a wide beam pattern so they do well as rock lights too.

Sorry for the delay. I really like them, the wireless only applies to the switch, the lights themselves are wired to a controller which is wired to the battery. I sent Warn an email asking if it is possible to wire the lights to a switch and was told they will be coming out with a switch upgrade. The wireless controller is small, unable to connect to a key ring and could easily be lost or stolen, I plan on getting the switch when it comes available.

For as much as I use them I went thrifty. KC 5'' apollos on windsheild brackets and 7" Delta 100s on the fairlead. That combo lights anything up and was under $250. Also I prefer stone guards and not covers. Don't want to have to get out and take covers off to use my aux lights.

+3 on the Rigid D1' s and the D2's , The D2's are bright as heck and they even have a Lifetime Warranty. I have 3 sets so far , 2 sets of D2's Flood and Driving beam and some D1 ambers I never turn off, I use them as daytime running lamps.

ditto on the duallys amber as drl's I added dually spots as off road supplement works great.
