Yea you just pull on that rod under the seat some how. I forgot but I pulled mine out when it was a few days old. Flop it forward and look it over real good and you can figure it out. Kind of heavy as I carried mine up stairs in the shop for storage about 10 months ago. Then I put a quadratec mat in back and it covers the whole area. You can cut holes in the mat for seat install and leave the mat in place but I did not cut mine as the rear seat may never go back in.

Took mine out but have found the need for it a couple times so had the fab shop build me a new bracket that locks in the stock mounts and has only one folding seat mounted to it.

Before making the decision to go with an unlimited, my initial plan was to either order without a back seat or remove it right away.

Nothing against passengers, it's just that I don't want any except the one next to me.
-that and it looks better...and the headrests don't block the rear window.

It works out better in the unlimited, so I keep my seats folded down unless I need 'em.

What back seat?? I took it out right after purchase and it has only been back in once when my daughter was visiting. Nice to have the option to put it back in; IF needed.

The only humans I know that fit in the back seat of my JK are the grandkids. I tried to crawl in back there and was thwarted.

The seat comes out easily enough but where to store it is a problem, so I've left it in for now.

It's not the "fitting part" it's getting back there. I find it more comfortable then my Tj. Getting into the back is the issue. I heard they brought back the fold&tumble which would make it easier.

That seat is heavier than it looks! And it has these nice sharp places to tear up your skin, carpet, etc.

Left the backseat from my last to 2dr JKs at the dealership. Not useable for full-size people, and you have more storage area.
