Many of Us want some brighter lights to see while backing up but do not want the expense and size of Cube lights on our rear end. So, for me this Mod was free but, even if you have to pick up some parts - it's Cheap and easy. I used what I had laying around and I believe it came up pretty nice.
Now I can get those fancy JWS Tail Lights IF I can sneak them past MaMa.
First- I put Four(4) LEDs out back on the bottom edge of my Hardrock bumper which has a funky angle and I walked around my garage looking for "stuff" and what did I see? My old silver front of my Sahara bumper and "it" had the angle I was looking for.
So, I made me some home made brackets to hold Two(2) lights each side.
Why this shape you ask? I have no idea....
Used piece #1 to template piece #2
OooH Nice Fit! (That's what she said)
One on the right is roughed up (it got mouthy) w/some sand paper.
Test fit hole for the bumper bolt
Two Holes for my Inspired Engineering Rock Lights (the inexpensive ones) but ANY LED will do
My Finish of choice (not really, I had some in a can)
Looks Nice
Shrink tube - I like this stuff.
Fully protected over-kill
Ready to head to the Garage and the Jeep
9v battery test first, don't wanna get pissed off after everythings in.
Pretty DL I think....
Not quite dark but I wanted a beer and I had fun doing it. Easy install. Very inexpensive and Really BRIGHT.
Switch is inside and of course can only be activated in Reverse
Give it a try!
