I am actually starting to wonder about this, mine has been getting consistently worse. I have no mods yet, and am about 13 to 14 mpg. Average driving. Hoping a tsb will come out on better af ratios for obc like honda did on my crv

are you both calculating this by miles driven per gallons used or by the display on the dash?

I'm using fuel log app, and noticing my fuel fillups becoming more frequent for same drive routine. Noticeable needle drops on a 15 mile one way commute. I actually don't trust vehicle mpg, since most just average real time, no clue how its calculating fuel used. Almost as if they have set points in fuel tank given that distance to empty feature.

It is not going to do better and if it does, it won't be much. Nevertheless, do the math and you will see there really is not much difference in the cost of a vehicle that gets 15 to one that gets 20 (no 4X4's do that). The cost of taxes alone will totally wipe out all of the "savings" you might get in a couple of years.

I don't believe them. They might for a very short amount of distance between resets but not for any actual distances. Take comfort knowing that fuel is supposed to go higher than ever this year. I just heard to expect between 70 cents to a dollar increase by the summer. Fun huh?

Sticker for 21+ is probably best case scenario driving a sport w/ 3.21 gears/6 speed/highway/and 30" tires

I used to get 11-12 on my 2004 TJ... loved that TJ but made the jump for the 2012 JKU-R which is way better on MPGs at 16-17

I consistently get 17.4 city and 18.8 hwy with my 2010 manual 2.5 lift and 33s City was mid 18s when everything was stock and was getting around 20.4 hwy then too.

Here's mine so far all hand calculated. I would like better but I can't say I was surprised based on all the posts since September on 2012 mileage numbers

fyi Exceprt for first tank brake in this is mostly hwy, almost always in ECO zone, MN winter blend gas (10% Ethanol) and rarely over 70mph

I have kept detailed fuel logs since I first got my 2011 Sport back in October 2010. I log it using an iPhone app and then update the logs on fueleconomy.gov. I wish there was a way to "share" your log with others, but I don't see a way currently. Here's the first part:

I always check the readout as well every time I fill up. I record it (listed above as "indicated") to compare to actual, resetting it after every tank. My mileage hasn't really changed since then, the averages are generally the same.

For comparison, I have a 2 door '12 Rubi stick and got 14.5 mpg or so going high 70's in a really strong wind, that was 10% ethanol winter gas.

Wind or high speeds *really* lower your mileage in a Wrangler. I get much better mpg going 65 or so. Just try it and see how it does. Yeah, that's annoying, but everything else about a Wrangler completely rocks (esp a rubi).

I get about 17.5 combined. One of two things. Either your Jeep is still breaking in, or you guys need to get your heavy foot off the gas.

jeffk42, i have done a similar thing with an xcel spread sheet and have similar numbers. i commute over 100 miles each day and have also noticed a slight drop since they introduced the winter blends. most of my miles are highway at 65-75 mph and the mileage improves significantly if i keep it 55-60. over the course of almost 10000 miles, i averaged almost 19 mpg.

Lightbulb Hell............

.......... no one really buys a Jeep expecting Great mpg

Mine started out at about 17+mpg, holding her at 60-mph max, and at about 3100-mi, same driving habits, I am down to 15+mpg.

1. We all are now using the "winter blends of gas" that hurts mpg
2. But again, it ain't a Prius

We just need to SUCK IT UP and remember is a Jeep and when the others are dead in their tracks, Jeeps keep GOIN

225 miles on the odometer and getting around 17.3 mpg with somewhat mixed (not too much highway) city/highway. I agree with the posts above, how many other vehicles (a Jeep is not a normal vehicle...god bless 'em) can get 17 mph with standard 32" mud terrains?!?!? Besides, the amount of fun I have driving my rubi outweighs any concerns I have about spending a tad more on gas.

I have a 2010 sport with 25k and I'm getting 17-18. Are other vehicle gets 20-22 and we still jump in the jeep no matter where we go. Too much fun to drive! I refuse to stress over it. That's why I work.
