I'm looking at a Barricade Trail Force bumper to replace my stock bumper/Maximus-3 set up which is rusting like crazy after 2 years. I've heard there are also rust issues with the Barricade bumpers so I'd probably spray a few coats of rustoleum or bedliner on it before installation.
I had two questions about the bumper from anyone who has one. First, I don't have a winch yet but am toying with the idea of getting one later on. If I buy this bumper, would it need to be removed to add a winch if I do get one? And second, if you went from stock bumper to the barricade, how much sag did you notice in the front end?

Just replaced my stock bumper with a Barricade bumper. Didn't see any sag, even with a winch thrown in. Bought flat black touch up paint to fix chips in finish. Spraying it down first is a good idea.
You do not need to remove the bumper to install a winch. At least I did not.

Hitting it with some bedliner will ensure a long life for the bumper without any rust. A lot of people prefer to remove the bumper to install a winch but it isn't necessary. It might make it easier though!
If you want to see how much sag you'll get from the new bumper, add the Barricade Bumper weight (79lbs) minus the stock bumper weight to front of the rig in the from of bricks or buckets of rock or whatever you have laying around. That'll show you your sag if any, and you can determine if you want to add spacers to handle it! Let me know if you have any other questions at all.
XTRyan, I've been shopping around for bumpers but not sure exactly what I should be looking at. I've been looking into a Barricade Trail Force HD front bumper. My '14 JKUS is a weekend warrior in the Midwest. Any suggestions/help?!
I usually suggest that you pick a list of must-have features for the Bumper, and pick a budget, then find a bumper that you like the looks of and that fits the first two requirements.
There are so many out there, it's hard to choose! The Barricade front bumpers have been pretty popular and our customers have been happy. Let me know if you have any specific questions or if you'd like a quote!
I installed my bumper than the winch. A little bit of a hassle getting to the underside of the winch mount hardware because of the upper air dam thing, but still not hard to do, it just took longer because I had to use a box wrench rather than a ratchet. I was prepared for paint damage and rust, but out of the box it was perfectly fine.
Keep in mind if you live in a two-plate state, you'll need to make or buy something to mount your license plate on. I made mine with some leftover $10 aluminum sheet from lowes. It attaches to the fairlead bolts.
Looks good! I'm glad it was in great condition out of the box. That's how it should be!
Your plate holder looks really good as well. For those who don't want to make one, we have a Fairlead License Plate Mount that will work if you're running steel cable/roller fairlead. We don't have one for synth/Hawse, but I'm working on it!
If anyone has any questions, I'm just a PM away!
