Can anyone post the dimensions of each?
I want to install with rock rails when I actually order my jeep. Going in January but already have itch to add things.
Want more of a step. Does one stick out further than the other.
I actually like the look of barricade better but also need practical when daughter uses it to step in
Thanks

I have the barricade ones. I can't speak to the Ace sliders but from the pictures I have seen on the forums, the Ace ones are tad bit wider.

The barricade ones have less of a gap. What I am trying to say is there is less probability that your foot will slip through when you step on it.

Also, I prefer the styling of the barricade sliders because the metal is welded at an angle and not perpendicular like the Ace Sliders

The finish of the Barricade sliders is that rough textured finish. From what I have heard on the forums, the finish on the Ace Sliders is not textured and a lot of folks stick the 3M tape to avoid slippage

My 12 year old uses my barricade sliders as a step and has no issues.

You got bit by the mod bug early! It looks like the ACE rails may stick out a little further. It's hard to tell in the pictures and it could just be an illusion because of the diagonal bracing. I can say that I have no trouble stepping on the Barricade Rock Sliders! Let me know if you have any other specific questions or if you'd like a quote!

I went with the Barricade sliders... The Ace are very nice but I liked the look of the barricades better. I also like the diagonal lines of the barricades.

something to consider if wheeling is ACE's warranty, not sure if Barricades have anything similar but a no questions asked you break it we replace it warranty is worth it's weight in gold in my opinion

In with a vote for the Ace Rock Rails. Ordered mine on BF and installed them last week. They look great and work well as a step. I do not think that a foot would get caught up in the gap; but then again mine are installed over the OEM Rubicon Rail. It also looks like these would make a nice foot rest when riding sans doors.

These are 'pricey' compared to other options, but you know what they say..."buy once, cry once." A forum vendor may be able to get you a discount.

I have never read this comment when reading about ACE or any other sliders design this way.

Not sure were you did your researched. these slider are cheap and for a reason. Those things are on the low end of sliders.

Barricades are crazy simple to put on and work well as a step. Wish I had of went the extra $50 and gotten the ones with the attached Rubi Rail, though. Just looks cleaner. They have taken some very hard licks from rocks.
The second day they were on, they even held nearly the Jeeps entire weight. A creek bank washed out from under me and my rear slid off sideways putting the Jeep teeter tottering on a 6 inch tree. There was only 1 tire and 1 slider touching anything. No damage.
My tires are 34.25" in diameter, no chance of rubbing.

BTW, Extreme Terrain goes above and beyond whatever you decide to purchase!

Been on ACE rales for over a year with a lot of snow time on the roads.....with rust converter being used in the bolt areas only, the finish has held up fine.

Just a data point. Yes, I put 3M tape on them. Yes, I like the fact that the guys making them are right up the road so to speak too.

Great welds. Great service. I am happy. Price seems fair.

I've had my Ace sliders going on 4 years and I've had no problems with the powder coating other than touching up the places where I've banged them on the rocks. They also work well as a step. I've used them to pivot against rocks and trees and they've held up with no problems. I seriously doubt you could break them on the trail due to corrosion. If there is any complaint its that they may stick out a little further than some may like for extreme rock crawling.

I can't knock the ACE parts, but for my money I like the Barricade Sliders. They've been proven to hold up really well on and off road and I know you said to leave aesthetics out of it, but that's important to me and I like the look of the Barricade Sliders over the ACE personally. With both of those parts I prefer the look with the Rubi Rails in place to cover the pinch seam and offer added protection. I know it's a lot of weight, but I love the look!

Let me know if you have any other questions at all!

I kind of like the Barricade better. Just sent PM to Ryan.
I feel that the angle support welds not only look better but also give more weld surface due to the angle cut. Should relate into more strength.

If you're going by strength, according to the website for each, the Ace sliders are 2" tube diameter with 0.134" wall thickness, while the Barricade is 1.75" diameter with 0.12" wall thickness. Get what you want, but I don't think weld surface area (if it's even a factor) necessarily makes the Barricade a superior product based on strength. On the other hand, I would imagine the Ace sliders are probably heavier.

The Ace sliders are also manufactured in the USA. Don't know about Barricade.

Extreme Terrain should correct the info on their website, 1.75" vs. 2" represents a significant difference in tube strength. Makes me wonder if the wall thickness that is listed is correct.

Bottom line, I doubt anyone will have an issue "breaking" either product.

The Rubi rails do not need to be trimmed for the barricade rails to fit.

I trimmed my rails at the rear because they are just a bit too long and come close to the rear tire, especially if you have larger tires.

Just installed Barricades on my 2DR Willys. Man what a breeze and I am very happy with the product make and looks. Delivered in good shape with no damage to powder coat. Mount holes fit right up. I had to slightly dremel grind the factory washer edge to easily slip them in the mounting boxes.

Tip for 1-person install: get a 5gal paint bucket, turn it over and wrap the top with the packaging bubble wrap, and set the rail on that..then slide the bucket into place and tilt the rail to clear the pinch seam. Also I bought a 1/2" air impact gun from Harbor Freight for 17 bucks to free the mounting bolt that come thread locked from the factory. Total install time with set up and some slight grinding - 1hour.

Can't beat the price either.

Hi Ryan,

Can I get a quote for the Barricade rock sliders for 2015 unlimited to 77433, please?

Thank you--
I'll PM both of you guys quotes now!

Just be mindful when you spend your money on products that you may later hope will protect your rig. You get what you pay for. Even Ryan knows that the Barricade stuff is mainly a cheaper alternative meant mostly for looks and were not designed for strength. You tend to get what you pay for. If you want the protection, you have to pay for it. But don't take my word for it, you should listen to Ryan. He said it best in another thread about Rubi Rails but he spoke of the Barricade brand in general.
Thanks for posting! I know you were unhappy with the Enhanced Rubi Rails you purchased and they didn't stand up to trails you run. Fortunately I haven't seen any Enhanced Rubi Rails or Barricade Rock Sliders bend or move on the trail for any of our other customers.

I stand behind my statements about the Enhanced Rubi Rails. It's obvious that there was a difference between the Barricade Enhance Rubi Rails and the OE Rubi Rails when you put them side by side. That being said, we have a ton of customers that are very happy with the amount of protection they've received from the Barricade Enhanced Rubi Rails and the price they paid for their armor.

Chargermop has run his Barricade Rock Sliders hard and has been very happy with them. In fact we have a lot of customers running Barricade armor and I have gotten very little to no negative feedback about the protection they offer.

If anyone has any questions about Barricade armor or any other parts we offer, or would like a quote, I'd be happy to help!
