Cool! Your post gets me inspired to finally bedline the tub on my CJ project. Already got everything unistalled (rollbars, seats, dash, steering, and all), but I too still have to wash, degrease, and sand.

Pics when you're done, please.

It's pretty ugly man--I'd take it off.

It'd bother me every day if I didn't.

JMHO.

Nice! That's a great idea. Hurry up and do it so we can all know how it goes! I'm very curious.

You'll enjoy it much more if you spend a couple more hours on it. Maybe a few more hours.

Hey Powderburn, Keep us all posted with updates... I ripped out my carpet yesterday & will probably be doing it this weekend but was unsure which product to use. It was a toss up between the Rustolem truck bed coating or Herculiner.. Curious to see how it comes out.
Is the deadener just in the center of the footwells or is it all along the sides & centers, and whats the best & easiest why to get it off??

I think it Looks really good so far.

I left the sound deadener. I dont have a blow torch or 5 extra hrs to remove it.

Just make sure u clean it really well.
I cleaned it, sanded it, used a air compressor to get all the fine dust out, acetoned it, then applied the 1st coat.

2nd coat in 2hrs.

*Envy rising . . . rising . . .*

So how was the project? Overall hours invested? Are you happy with it? Is there anything you can already think of that you'd advise someone to do differently?

I'd love to see some pics once you put the seats and everything back in.

3 hrs to take everything out and drink a case

2 hrs to clean & sand
Depending on how perfect u want ur borders, taping and puttn plastic/paper down 2 hrs

About an hr to paint everything
Wait 2hrs to dry, apply another coat

Wait 12-24 hrs to set in and give it a nice bath.

2 hrs to take tape & paper off and put everything back in

Iv been takn my time and finished in 3 days. I dont have a job yet so i have a lot of free time

One suggestion, take ur time! Don't rush it

And there are smooth and scruffy spots. I liked both textures so it makes sense to me.
