I have seen someone line their whole YJ, not a JK though. Take into consideration though, bedliner will not protect you from many dents. It may ward off scratches, but will do no good if you are looking to prevent dents.

I ran a line of Herculiner from the front fender to the rear fender at the hieght of the bottom of the door. I like the look, but 0 protection aside from scratches.

If you are only doing it for looks, buy vinyl decals. They'll help protect the paint from scratches, and will be reversible down the road. Bedliner doesn't want to come off once it's on.....
