Best deal on a Fab Fours Lifestyle Winch Bumper?

Hey all,

Anyone have one of these bumpers? Any issues with it?

07 - 11 Jeep JK Wrangler Front Winch Bumper w Grill Guard JK07-B1850-1

Best deal I can find is 1,453.49 or about 5% off the $1529 MSRP - Love the bumper, can't justify that kinda coin on it right now. Any idea why it's so pricey?

Found a few similarly styled bumpers that may work but it'd be nice to find a better deal on this one.

Have you looked at the Rugged Ridge XHD modular? It hides the winch and still looks pretty nice. I have the stubby non-winch version and I like it...

Yeah, my buddy has the XHD with regular end caps on his Rubi and I'll probably go with the XHD & storage ends unless I find a good deal somewhere on the fab four one. The XHD seems much lighter, will they take much in the way of bumping into imovable objects? Trees, rocks, the Jeep in front of you?

If I recall correctly, the XHD is made from steel that's thicker than 1/8th inch but less than 3/16" steel. The fab fours is made from 3/16" steel and weighs in at 135 lbs. Any idea what the XHD with end caps & winch bar weighs? I'll be adding a Warn M8000 when it all goes on.

Hope I bumper & winch installation order right, I keep reading about taking the bumper back off to install or remove the winch, can't recall which it is for this bumper.

I was one of those guys that put the bumper on and then off. When you install you need to wire the winch, there is on connection that gets blocked once the winch is mounted, then you need to mount the winch before you bolt down the bumper also because once the bumper is tightened down you wont have acess to the winch bolts. Its not very hard it is heavy( I'm now addidng a lift due to weight of bumper causing front end to sag) and an extra hand will help but it can be done alone.

I have the XHD with storage ends, but I can make it a Stubby in just a few minutes. Take off the storage ends and put on the stock end caps. It's heavy, but stout. 3/16" powder coated steel

My config weighs 155lbs, without a winch.

I wanted the Fab Fours too but went with the XHD because of the price. I just installed it last weekend. Definitley need to install the winch before you put the bumper on the Jeep. It is heavy and very solid.

Do you guys feel like it would rub against trees or bump things and not pop the end caps off? Wife said buy what you want, but I'm thinking with the cash I'd save, I could add the other toys I'm looking at!

Pop them off? They are held in place with 3 huge bolts and lock nuts. Plus they are quite heavy themselves. Believe me, they are not coming off. I am glad to have them hit something before the rest of my Jeep hits it.

Thanks for all the advice & confidence building.

They're in the cart at 4wd.com, seems cheaper than most everywhere else and I'm throwing in a few other items. Not sure I want to order from them again, last time I bought from them the salesguy got real pushy with me. He apologized, but still. Might go back to the Big Q, didn't have any issues with them. I'm on the east coast, anyone suggest a favorite shop?

Went with the big Q, they did a good job answering a lot of questions for me. By shop I meant, big Q, 4wd or another shop (retailer). Ended up buying front & rear bumpers, evap can skid, door stops, and a bunch of other stuff for way less than the one front bumper.

I'm in Ocean View, DE, not too far from Philly

I really liked the Lifestyle bumper also, but it won't accept the Warn Powerplant. That and the price made me stop considering it. I'm leaning toward the XHD, I just don't like how the fog lights are so far recessed.

The Metalcloak bumper can add 60" light caps that give a similar look to the Lifestyle bumper. It's more than the XHD, but cheaper than the Lifestyle.
