Best mirrors with no doors

Summer is almost here and I'm getting ready to take the doors off. What are the best mirrors to use with no doors?

I had mirrors through the hinges once the doors were off, but finally went to these--love them. They mount on the windshield, have quick connects, and are a breeze to take on and off. Rugged Ridge--available multiple places online...here's one link:

I think Defiant Systems make the best mirrors when going doorless. He's a vendor here and makes them as a side job. They're nice and sturdy and offer a very wide field of vision.

Off road Jeep mirrors by Defiant Systems!

They don't stick out as far as this picture would make them appear.

x2, but they are flat so you will want to replace the passenger glass with convex...if you put one on that side.

I have these and hate them. Pass side vibrates, major pain to aim just right, cant see much out of them, they stick out too far, they whistle and are usless for backing up (in my case, backing into a parking spot).

I bought them originaly so I could still have a good view around me while doorless and have the hinge available for (future) soft doors, but now I'll just say forget it and not even use them since in Texas they arent needed.

x3.
a couple of times the mirrors have moved at highway speeds but a pair of pliers I now keep in the center console takes care of this issue.

I got the Mopar relocating brackets, they mount your factory mirrors by the windshield and you get 2 black round filler pieces that bolts in place where the mirrors were. They are around $58.00 shipped. I'm getting my painted to match my doors so they won't stand out..

I really like the American Outlaws but they are a little spendy, I do like the mounting better, but I also like the Olympic 4x4 Safari mirrors as well, and almost half the price of the others. I know a lot of people just go without mirrors, I dislike doing that myself, I need to be able to see behind me.

x4. Got them off of Amazon. Initial install took about 10 minutes. Now it takes about 2 minutes to pop them on. They're the mirrors that are in my pic to the left.

guess it depends on what you are looking for, I did not want to be removing the mirrors every time I put the doors on. I have a plate over the mirror hole on my half doors. If you tighten them down they do not vibrate. You do need to put a convex mirror on the right side and adjust them so you can see them.

A few photos from one of my previous JKs. Once the adjustment is done initially, each time thereafter you just have to swivel the entire setup to the right place then lock them down by hand. Takes 5 minutes. I get some wind noise but not a whistle as someone else mentioned. Mine don't vibrate either. I like the way these look on the doorless JK - kind of retro.

Sorry to revive an old thread but do the rugged Ridge work if you have windshield light brackets?

They do if you have lights on the front of the windshield, not on the side (these mount to the side of the windshield)

For the record I dislike them. They are really tough to aim. I put a small convex mirror in the corner of each one and thats really the most useful thing about them - a place to mount a mirror that works!

I only run one on the drivers side, but here's what I used.

16" piece of 3/8 all thread
4 3/8 washers
4 3/8 nuts
1 replacement truckers mirror from Napa.

The mirror includes a bracket that I set on top of one nut/washer then tightened down with another nut/washer. Run one nut up from the bottom about 4"-5", slide washer onto all thread, insert all thread through top hinge hole, slide on washer and tighten with last nut. Don't crank down too much or you could possibly crack the paint on top or bottom of hinge. If you find you need more vision from mirror you can flex/bend the all thread out, mine is at about a 30 degree angle.

I have the American outlaw mirrors. They are definitely secure and nice mirrors. Things that I've noticed...it's hard to adjust them. Since they are tight you have to use 2 hands to move them. I'd suggest setting them with a friend in the passenger seat. 2nd they still vibrate. Not as bad as others that I've seen but they don't stay still like OEM ones connected to doors.

I don't like the look of the relocated Oem ones so they are perfect but will vibrate.

I have a set of Rugged Ridge mirrors and they vibrate like crazy. If I were to do it again I'd get the Kikbax mirrors.

I've got the rugged ridge mirrors too (round). I would suggest the vertical rectangle ones. The rounds are a little small. Other than that they are great!!

Do you folks running the Rugged Ridge mirrors find there to be tight clearance at the mounting bracket when removing/returning your doors? Mine is especially close when handling the half-door uppers. Other than that, I've been pleased with them.
If you need some help positioning the arm, place an index mark on the arm end and a corresponding one on the bracket. Use a highly contrasting paint on the end of a toothpick or other pointed object.

x2 on the American Outlaw mirrors. I agree, difficult to adjust and they do vibrate some, not terrible though. Overall I'm happy with them.
