best place to buy rugged ridge rims and duratracs

What is the best place to purchase Rugged Ridge rims with 315/70/17 duratrac tires? DTD doesn't carry Rugged Ridge brand.

For the lift, I think I am deciding on Teraflex 2.5 coil lift kit and add Rancho 9000 xl shocks.

I got mine from shopjeepparts.com. Then I bought my tires from the local discount tire. I got 5 wheels for right at $900 shipped to me for free. There was a 5% coupon involved in the deal. Anyway you might give them a look.

I went with the 285/70 duratracs

You might want to give the 9550's a shot. Very nice ride.

For the rims find a local omix-ada dealer if you can. They can price match usually and no freight plus faster delivery, same for the tires but they will need to work through different distributors for those.

X 2 for the wheels

In terms of the tires, I ordered them from Goodyear. They had a crazy sale a couple of months ago and the link was still active so I got them for the sale price along with a $120 rebate. You can always pin vendors against each other to get the best prices.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Looks like shopjeepparts.com has the RR wheels for $921.00 shipped + $50 cash rebate on RR products. That is the best price I have seen so far.

I'll look around to see where I can get the best price on duratracs.

at the discount tire im employed at in michigan we can special order anything. usually if its one of our wheels theres a package deal, but people buy special order all the time and we usually throw them a deal with either tire pricing or wipe out the extras (lifetime spin balancing, rotations, certs, and TPMS rebuilds which can add up to about $200. go to one of our stores, we'd appreciate the business and im sure theyll work with you on what ever you need done. good luck

I ordered mine from jeephut.com, got a good deal on them, and took them over to DT to buy the tires and get them mounted.

My discount tire tried for about a week to get these for me. Not saying its impossible, but they gave up and told me to order them myself and bring them in. Apparently Rugged Ridge would not distribute though them. He was really surprised he couldn't get them. I do love my local Discount Tire and would have preferred to buy through them. They take great care of me with my tires.

Check summit and/or jegs. Both have good prices and free shipping

It's been crazy few weeks, but I finally got to ordering my wheels and tires.

My local Discount Tires shop matched the Shopjeep parts price and sold me the combo at this price. What do you guys think? Good price?

Rugged Ridge Wheels: 5 * 184.3 = 921

GY Duratrac 315/70/17 5x = 1530

Total is 2481 and no tax.

I think so. The Duratracs are 5 bucks cheaper on their website, but you easily make that up without tax. Plus DT usually mounts and balances for free if you buy a wheel and tire combo with them, so that's money saved also.

Dont' forget Goodyear has a $60 Visa Card mail in rebate for the Duratracs right now. And I think Discount might still have a $60 Visa Card rebate if you use their Card Care One card and buy a tire wheel package.

Good point on the Goodyear rebate. I need to remember that.

There is also a rebate on Rugged Ridge wheels for $50 that I need to follow up and find out, if purchase from Discount Tire will qualify or not.

Keep something else in mind. If you plan on running the protection rings, you should have them mount the rings on the wheels when balancing, they affected the balancing a little on my set up despite it being evenly distributed weight.

Last I checked, DT had the Duratracs for $297. But I'd pay 306 if they withheld the tax.

Thanks for the tip Matador! I don't currently plan on getting the protection rings. If I do go with them in future, I'll keep the balancing issues in mind.

Get the tires at discount tire. they price match, find them cheap online and print it out. they matched the +shipping price on my 37's and mounted them for free and I was able to purchase their warranty.

Turns out, I suffered the same fate as AUskier. Discount Tire couldn't get the RR wheels. So, I went ahead and ordered from shopjeepparts and got them delivered in 4 days.

I am still using the Discount Tire for the Duratracs and mounting etc.

looka great, I went through the same issues with getting the rims, I ended up getting the rims seperate and the tires from DTD, I went with cooper ATPs though. I was reading about a ton of issues the duratracs were having at the time, and the negative reviews scared me away. Seems like those have stopped though, so hopefully the bad batch of tires GY seems to have put out are all gone.

My local GY corporate store went below lowest price I could find. Plus I put it on their cc and got an additional $160 rebate. I try to keep things local if I can and I get to develope a relationship for future needs.

Tae73, I saw how good the painted red rock rings looked on Matodor's (???) black jeep. The thought of painted them yellow did cross my mind, but I am not sure they will look good on my Dozer though.

I think they would look good, I plan on painting mine deep cherry red. This was our trailguides jeep in Ouray last year, I think this is the same color.
